  • "The great atmosphere, great food!"

    29 April 2018

"Loved meeting loads of people at the restaurant, which has great food and a huge bon fire place that is cozy to sit around."

  • "NOISE!"

    31 December 2017

"Partying until 3am! Total disregard for complaints of noise! If you want a decent nights rest book elsewhere.Ablutions dark, wet&dirty."

  • "disappointing overnight stay"

    16 March 2017

"self catering kitchen dirty. 2 or 3 bed rooms not worth the money. no fan or AC, wifi not working in rooms. just for those looking for a backpack crowd"

  • "Needs change..."

    03 January 2017

"It is a beautiful place with nice communal bar and swimming pool. <br/>However the kitchen is under staffed. Only two cooks serving everyone. This of course results in waiting ridiculous amounts of time for something as simple as a baked egg...<br/><br/>If you visit this part of the world to do the great activities that it offers and require at least 6 hours of sleep, renting one of the rooms like the kammasie or rooi els is not recommended. There does not seem to be rules on noise or who are allowed to enter and use your kitchen or living room.<br/> We had two ladies who invited their famalie of +-12 for a post new years party in the 4 seat living room... We ended up skiping our last activity as 2 nights without sleep had us so tired we decided to head back home for some peace and quiet.<br/>Other than that the place is clean with a nice party vibe."

  • "poor double room for a high price"

    03 January 2017

"A very small, dirty and poor quality room which we couldn't even get into on arrival - someone had to break in through the window to be able to open the door for us. A very pricey room considering what we got"

"Nice place to stay over as otter hikers."

  • "Disappointing"

    15 March 2016

"Our double en-suite room (R650 on), was clean and comfortable, though getting in and out of the toilet/shower room was rather tight, and there was little room to put things if you're are travelling with much luggage. The self-catering kitchen was extremely poorly stocked both with pans and utensils ( only I fork). There were no mugs for a hot drink in the morning, though I was given some on asking. It is the poorest supplied I have encountered; my impression is they wished you to buy the meals on offer, but this may not be the case. The initial booking contact was most positive, but sadly the reality fell far short. Robin"

  • "Typical Back-packers experience"

    12 August 2015

"I have stayed at Tube &amp; Axe a number of times. It is always clean and pleasant. I really like their new addition of the swimming pool and deck area as well as the protected fire pit area, although this tends to get very smokey at night. The staff are always friendly and helpful at Tube 'n Axe.&nbsp; <br />"

  • "Average Stay"

    13 January 2015

"Our ensuite room was very nice and clean, but the communal kitchen was an absolute unhygienic mess which was very off putting to use. We would not stay here again."

  • "Great value, great location with great vibe"

    14 January 2014

"The room with en suite for the family was sufficient. The booking did have a hiccup. They don't seem to be using safari now anymore. Had to pay in due to this which added to the initial cost. But it was not too excessive."

  • "It was great!"

    26 May 2010

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the staff are friendly, the place is amazingly beautiful and we loved the way everything is done organically and out of natural building materials. We only found out about the lounge and kitchen when we had our breakfast, so it would have been nice to have been told about all the facilities on arrival, but we really enjoyed the experience and the friendly atmosphere. Thank you tube and axe, it was great!"
