Kwena chalets is a natural and unique hideaway with an African style, situated inside the Sun City resort.
There are 14 thatched-roof chalets available, decorated in authentic African colours and relaxing themes. All chalets are non-smoking and are not self-catering. We can provide a mattress and bedding for children sharing a chalet with their parents, as well as a camping cot for babies. Secure and shaded parking is available to all Kwena Chalets guests.
Most of the property is natural bush and about 27,000 square metres has been utilised for the Crocodile Sanctuary, Chalets and other Kwena facilities. Adding to the natural experience is a variety of bird life and vervet monkeys that are regularly seen by visitors.
There is a vast crocodile sanctuary that is home to thousands of crocodiles, including Arnold which is one of biggest captive Nile crocodiles in the world. We also have a large curio shop with a wide variety of goods on offer.
A small stream forms our Western boundary and its trees also serve as a barrier between Kwena and the Sun Citys day visitor parking.
An extra children can be accommodated per chalet on a mattress on the floor at an additional charge of R350 per child per night. This applies for children aged 2 to 12 years. An extra adult get charge R750 per adult per night. This applies for guests ages 13 and older. A maximum of three people in the chalets are allowed. Complimentary access to the Valley and Crocodile farm is given to our guest.
"Clean and comfortable chalets away from the busy Sun City areas, that still offers free access to the Sun City facilities. We enjoyed the bush atmosphere a lot and the breakfast was great"
"The chalets were clean and tidy, but the staff and their attitude not so great. They could not help us with any name of a restaurant for dinner, since we wanted to make a booking in advance. The only one they could come up with was the wimpy and was unfriendly and impatient<div><br /></div><div>My feeling is, that if you pay R2000 a night for two people, you should be able to help them with things like the above.</div><div><br /></div><div>Surely we are not the first who enquired about restaurants?</div><div><br /></div><div>The next issue was that the satelite tv was not working, and, being the semi final of the world cup, would have been nice, since they advertise that they do have satelite tv.</div><div><br /></div><div>I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND KWENA TO ANYBODY, I FEEL IT IS WAY OVERPRICED WITH LITTLE ATTENTION TO THE NEEDS OF THE GUESTS.</div><div><br /></div>"
"Friendly and attentive staff."
"Excellent and helpful staff, good location within the park, very good breakfast buffet. Great for a stay with kids. The bungalows are however a bit overpriced and there was no internet.<br /><br />"
"so you book the cheapest room in Sun City, And have not much expectations. But the chalet (double bed and sleeper couch for the kids) was perfect! Clean, nice shower, lost of space, And close to the skytrain. We were pleasantly surprised, Good breakfast and staff!"
"The stay at Kwena chalets is definitely value for money. The crocodile park visit is brilliant. Kids had an excellent time. Room facilities worked for the most part and was neat and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. There are however some areas of improvement:<div>1. the bar needs to be stocked for customers<div>2. allow day visitors not staying at the accommodation to make a cash payment for breakfast</div><div>3. respond to residents complaints on facilities not working.</div><div>4. Allow accommodation towels to be taken to the valley.</div><div>5. I had to pay at the main gate to enter sun city then claim the money back. These small things could change a holiday from being okay to brilliant.</div></div>"
