Catherine's Cottage

This is a fully furnished self-catering cottage located in the village of Sutherland, in the remote area of the Karoo. It is the perfect place to experience the slow, quiet pace of a small community.

It consists of two bedrooms, a bathroom, a fully-equipped kitchen and a sunroom with a built-in braai facility. There is a TV with satellite channels, heaters, linen and towels, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Board games are provided to pass the time and there is secure on-site parking available.

Many guests travel to Sutherland specifically to gaze at the amazing night skies and also visit the South African Astronomical Observatory. It is also one of the coldest towns in South Africa with regular snow falls in winter, making it a great place to experience a snowy fairy-tale world.

This is a strictly non-smoking and no pets are allowed establishment.
Regrettably no children under the age of 12.

"Catherine's Cottage was an excellent choice for our stay in Sutherland. We were welcomed by friendly Edna with tasty warm soup, homemade bread and the table was set beautifully. The cottage was spotless and the decor is stunning. It had everything we needed and more. The beds are very comfortable with quality warm bedding. The fact that it had an inside braai in the cozy sunroom was very convenient. We couldn't wait to get back from our outings to curl up in front of the fireplace with the soft small blankets. Although Sutherland is small we thought the cottage was situated centrally<span style="line-height: 1.5;">.
