It is thirty minutes drive to the well known Route 62 &roughly an hours drive to Cape Agulhas, the most Southern tip of Africa. The De Hoop Nature Reserve is about an hour and a halfs drive & a wonderful place for a day trip and the Robertson Wine Route is only half an hour away via Bonnievale.

"Wow, ons was regtig aangenaam verras. Soveel moeite met al die gaste, vriendelikheid, skoon en netjies. Moeite gedoen om als vooraf vor ons reg te h, ons wou braai by die swembad.Baie baie dankie, vir n smaaklike ontbyt die volgende oggend. Ons was totaal en al uitgerus vir die reg vir lang pad."

"We can definitely recommend Aan de Oever Guesthouse. It is a lovely guesthouse with very spacious rooms, friendly and helpful staff and a wonderful breakfast situated on a beautiful plot in a very special town. We travelled with our toddler and found everyone to be very welcoming and accommodating in that regards as well. We will definitely stay there again and recommend to all. "

"We enjoyed our stay in Aan de Oever -although it was only one night in transit. We had stayed before in November 2011. We received a very nice welcome - juice on arrival and given a very comfortable room. The breakfast was extensive based on local produce whilst our car was washed by the gardener/handy man who kept the grounds looking immaculate.We were given some muffins for our onward journey and made to feel very welcome by the pleasant and efficient new manageress. Very recommended! Note we enjoyed a lovely home cooked evening meal with a set menu from the local restaurant only 10 mins walk which was excellent!"

"Aan de Oever is truly a hidden gem in Swellendam. We were so surprised by the combination of great service and a wonderful room. The room was very spacious, luxurious and romantic, and the view of the Langeberg Mountains was stunning. We will most certainly return in the near future."

They are so thoughtful and helpful and the special touches, e.g. "turn down" each night with a chocolate on your pillow, and to our utter delight and amazement,"padkos" brought to the car as we drove away. "Thanks for a great time at your guesthouse. The welcome was warm, the service excellent and the rooms were beautiful (we’ve very appreciated the air-condition with outside temperatures above 35°C). We really enjoyed the pool area and the lovely garden with a wide range of different birds. ….and not to forget: the excellent breakfast and the “car wash service”. Unfortunately we’ve stayed only for one night but we certainly will stay there again when we will be in Swellendam next time. A superior guesthouse!"

"I had the pleasure of staying here during November 2005. The welcome was warm and the room was excellent, with nice furniture and very comfy beds. The view from our room across the mountains was worth the cost in itself. As for the proprietors, well Riaan and Julie and the whole staff are textbook examples of excellent hosts, their whole ethos can be summed up as ït's your holiday to enjoy'. We found they were very willing to help book dinner, organise local events and also provide onward directions. A nice touch was the mini lunch bag of fresh fruit and muffins for when we left. The breakfast was particularly good, with a good range of quality foods, muffins, hot breakfast and good quality coffee which really set us up for the day. Quite simply the best B&B either myself or my friend have ever stayed in, and I would reccomend it without any hesitation. "
