Old Thatch Lodge
We invite you to sleep in a "National Monument" or to stay in our comfortable "Self-Catering Cottages".
Have a rest in our wonderful native garden, or go with us on a tour surround Swellendam, third oldest town in South Africa and approximately 220 km from Cape Town
So enjoy the evening in our beautiful lounge with an open fireplace.
Your breakfast will be served outside on the terrace under the thatch roof.
You can even cook your own meal in our Lodge kitchen, or have a nice braai in our wonderful garden.
We can also offer You day tours in an airconditioned Minibus around Swellendam. Please don't hesitate to ask us.
Would you like to stay in one of our Cape Dutch Styl Selfcatering Cottage?All cottages have a lounge with a integrateted kitchen, a separated sleeping room, with one Double bed or two single beds and a bathroom.
The kitchen is full equiped and a Supermarket is direct in opposit of the plot. He is open 7 days the week. We can offer you facilitis to have a nice braai in the garden.
You can also have the possibility to change the sofas into beds for the children. Bedding in request.
All cottages have also coulour TV (SABC 1,2 and 3) and three of them have a open fire place.

Your car can be parked in a car port on the plot.

07 January 2018"Friendly host with a wonderful posse of great dogs. I felt welcomed throughout and really enjoyed the company of the lovely dogs - 2 Irish wolfhounds and a Saluki, who despite their sizes, are just big babies."

14 January 2009"Our stay was really great : rooms beautifully decorated, delicious breakfast in the garden and Karin, the owner was very warm and helpful to find a restaurant and give us some indications about what to do around. kids were very happy to play with cats and dogs in the garden. We would recommend this place to our friends and should surely stay there again in a next trip in Swellendam."
