Located neatly beside Swellendam s historic Drostdy Museum, old charm Boutique Hotel Roosje van de Kaap dates back to 1790. It boasts 14 beautifully appointed rooms and two pools in a lush garden setting with stunning views of the Langeberg mountains. As a family friendly hotel, children of all ages are welcome at low prices.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant, a historical stable, where guests can also enjoy candlelit an la carte dinner. The menu consists of distinctive country courses with French and Cape Malay influences.
All rooms and public areas have free fast Internet access, flat screen tvs, bathrooms en-suite and all necessary utilities; the more luxurious rooms are equipped with aircon and slipper baths.
Roosje is ideally located in the oldest, calmest part of Swellendam within walking distance of coffee shops, souvenir shops and the mountains of Marloth Nature reserve. The antelopes of the Bontebok Park are at a short distance as well.
At 45 minutes driving, the Hoop National Park with its wildlife, stunning beaches and whale watching is a real beauty. Going in the opposite direction you will enter the semi dessert of the Kleine Karoo, with several nature reserves, spas and pretty villages. Last but not least, the Robertson wine valley, with good wine tasting possibilities, can be reached in half an hour drive.
"Very pleasant one night stop over."
"Very welcoming and pleasant situation. We had a comfortable night. In process of renovation so rather drap decor in our room will no doubt be changed."
"What a peaceful, restful, calming place this was. And so romantic. The historic architecture brought a uniqueness to this stay as we had experienced so many other styles of accommodation on this particular trip. Will never forget that shower 'window'! Will never forget Help Brandsma either who made us feel so at home."
"My hubby and I stayed at Roosje van die Kaap after Up The Creek music festival, what a lovely place, rooms very clean and comfortable, very friendly host. Fabulous breakfast."
