Only 18 km outside of Tarkastad Fairview Farm House & Cottage is a convenient stop over for travellers and holiday makers looking for a country getaway. It is situated on a stock farm in the scenic Winterberg Nature Concervancy of the Eastern Cape. The Farm House & cottage is available on a self-catering basis.

The Farm House sleeps eight people and is fully-equipped for self-catering. There are four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and spacious lounge. The lounge has a large fireplace, ideal for the cold winter evenings.The outside Cottage sleeps two with a kitchenette & shower, toilet. The spacious gardern has a large pool and a beautiful braai area. Fire wood is available to purchase. There are tennis courts & a full size lawn bowling green on the property

There are a number of farm outings for the kids and a 4x4 drive to a spectacular look-out point .

There is plenty to do in the surrounding area. There are walking and biking trails on the farm, the Farm House with its large garden and spacious verander is the perfect place to chill and gaze out at the mountain called Martha a landmark of Tarkastad.

"We were charged for accommodation in self-catering Knowsley cottage. Although we accepted the cottage attached to the house after we were informed that the Knowsley cottage was booked for the night, our accommodation was below average. No wash basin for dishes, no spoons, no dishclothes, etc. We feel that we should have been charged less for this accommodation. We never saw the actual Knowsley Cottage!"

"We had a fabulous time at Knowsley over the Easter Weekend. The cottage is spacious and comfy. We lit up the fire in the fire-place every night which made it warm and cosy inside. We were even allowed to bring my sister's dog with - and Casey enjoyed the open space outside. We did the green and red trail on bike - loved the scenery and the peaceful tranquillity of the 'platteland'."
