Situated 4 km from Thabazimbi, on the Marakele National Park Road, Marula Cottage Guest Lodge is a lovely thatched farm house with beautiful views of the Waterberg Mountains. Within easy reach of both the town and visitor attractions such as Marakele National Park, Pretator Centre and a golf course, Marula Cottage is ideal for business clients as well as people looking for a peaceful break in the African bush.

Eco-based, FGASA-guided tours to nearby Marakele National Park, Pilanesberg and other local attractions are also offered. We are a small family run guest lodge who pride ourselves in our attention to comfort, detail and hospitality. All our rooms offer views to the mountains and our bird-filled garden. We also offer great food, including lunch and dinner. We hope you come as guests and leave as friends.

Marula Cottage offers three new guest bedrooms set on the mountain, with wonderful views of The Kraansberg and Marakele Mountains to be enjoyed from the patio. Early birds can take in the spectacular sunrises through the large sliding dining room doors, there is no better way to start the day.

For the more sedate, some time spent on the patio under the Marula tree will delight with an abundance of bird life. A little time on the farm may also yield impalas, mountain reedbuck, klipspringer, kudu, jackal, and porcupine, to name but a few. Experience the peace of the bush, fine foods and stunning views with the convenience to being so near to town.

" From the minute we drove in, we were made to feel so welcome.  All the facilities were first class, our room was spacious, clean comfortable and lacked for nothing. Breakfasts were excellent and we were fortunate to be able to pre-order dinner from the lodge too. And our dietary requirements were catered for!  Monika and Dave are the most outstanding and kindly hosts, thanks for a wonderful stay! <br />"

"Awesome setting with amazing views. The hosts Monika and Dave are a breath of fresh air - make you feel like part of the family and not a guest. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Monika is quite handy in the kitchen - dinner and breakfast being very tasty. There is no other place in Thabazimbi. We only wish we had stayed longer."

"I spent only one night at Marula Cottage but it was a very comfortable one. Dave and Monika were very gracious guests who went out of their way to make me comfortable. Over forty species of birds were recorded in a matter of one and a half hours spent sitting on the swimming pool terrace, while waiting for a delicious breakfast. Will plan to spend longer on my return."
