  "The highlight of road tripping on the N1 is usually the overnight stopover on a farm in the Karoo. In this instance Elandsrus ticked all the boxes - good food, interesting company, comfortable and spacious rooms. The fact that some of the people we spoke to had been return visitors to Elandsrus over the years speaks volumes. And like them, we will definitely return."

  "If you are looking for peace and quiet and hosts who exactly know when to chat to you and when to leave you alone, this is the place! Also worth mentioning is the beauty of this farm - birds, vegetation, grazing sheep, a homestead with lots of character, down-to-earth hosts, etc. We will always stay at Elandsrus whenever we have to travel the N1 through the Karoo. We highly commend this lodge and its people."

  "Expected the lodging to be closer to the road, which in hindsight was actually preferred. Unfortunately I had no cellphone reception. The owners were friendly and treated every guest as if they were family visiting. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. I have and will recommend this lodging to all my friends and family who want to experience true Karoo hospitality!"

If you stay any longer than a night you will most likely leave feeling like part of the family. The rooms are clean and spacious, ideal for when traveling with children.   "We've been staying at Elandsrus overnight on our yearly trip to Hermanus, for the last 5 years. We feel like family, knowing what to expect and feeling welcome! We usually have a a quiet and cosy braai,just winding down for the next day, watching thecstars! Patrys and JH give a great Karoo meal as well, should you prefer meeting other guests. The bed is very comfortable and the towels comfy. The communal kitchen/living room is well furnished and stocked."

  "If you are a light sleeper and wish to be surrounded by nature without any traffic noise; if you prefer to sleep on a very comfortable bed; if you cannot decide between a bubble bath or a lovely shower; if you prefer to feast on the freshest Karoo Lamb and drink good quality wines at a very affordable price, then look no further than Elandsrus.<div>Patrys and MJ have a wonderful farm on which they can host a complete rugby team. The homestead is tucked away behind a hill and is only 4km from the N1 making it very accessible. There are several homes which house the guests in luxury. The homes are surrounded by lovely gardens which are filled with large tortoises (they were breeding whilst we were there).</div><div>We had a wonderful night at their homestead and would definitely consider staying there for a few more days....</div><div><br /></div><div>Many thanks for your kind hospitality</div>"

  "We had a wonderful stopover at Elandsrus Country Lodge where we had a superbly comfortable bedroom and a most delicious home cooked meal of lamb pie and bobotie.The tranquility of the lodge after a long, hot journey was just what we needed! Patrys and JH we're charming hosts and assisted us with whatever we needed and gave great advice for to us for the rest of our journey. We will definitely return!"

  "In the absence of the owners, we were warmly greeted by Dom. Manus Duminy, a most entertaining and hospitable host! We enjoyed a good meal in the evening, served in the open-air dining room. The bedroom, in the old, family farmhouse, was charming but had only one small window and was very warm indeed, in spite of the fan provided. Breakfast was good!"
