  "I wanted to use this place as overnight resting on my way back home.I couldn't stay and I rather preferred driving other 5 hours in the dark and sleep in my house.I booked room 6,advertised as:the room has a mini kitchen,and fireplace.There was no kitchen ,no heating and the room was very cold.The communal kitchen turned to be the owner personal kitchen ,and the fridge their fridge.No nice.The place would have been perfect if I could have fridge ,microwave and a small heater in the room as advertised.I will never stop again there.Even if it seemed clean .New owners and very young,"

  "Very nice, clean over night stop with one problem, they make use of solar power and if there is no wind there is also no power, we left very early the next morning, which we did mention to the host, but still left in total darkness, make up and hair had to be done at a One Stop Garage. Not so nice."

  "<p>We absolutely loved our 1-night stay at Taaboschfontein. It was a wonderful experience to be out in the middle of the nature of the Karoo and a blanket of stars. The rooms and beds were clean and comfortable, with availability of a large TV to watch our Springboks unfortunately get beaten by Japan. The braai packs supplied were ample in quantity and quality of delicious Karoo lamb chops and boerewors and chees and tomato sandwiches ready for toasting on the fire. We'll definitely be back!</p>"

  "We stayed in the separate chalet which is situated away from the main guesthouse. It well-equipped with kitchen utensils, and the beds and bedding nice and comfortable. Outside, there is a braai-lapa, and while braai utensils are available, you have to supply your own wood.We were granted permission by the owner Grant to go on a 4x4 trail on the farm for an afternoon drive. This was an unexpected, absolutely wonderful experience. We were treated to beautiful views on a deep gorge, as well as magnificent views on the Karoo landscape. If nothing else, this experience made our visit entirely worthwhile.On the downside, there was a massive breakout of a certain type of worm that just got in anywhere into the rooms and bathrooms.Being in the bush, I am not sure if there is anything that could be done to prevent this invasion into the house, but it made it quite uncomfortable for everybody."

Johannes and Maria went out of their way to make you feel welcome, and were fantastic hosts.The whole experience of sleeping on a sheep farm was a very special treat, and the absolute quietness was a change from the hustle and bustle of the city.We will absolutely come back for another visit, possibly longer next time to experience the Karoo from a place of tranquility."

  "We arrived very late and the hosts were very helpful in providing directions and leaving lights on along our way. The house (unit 8) was clean and spacious. The double bed has a good mattress and we slept really well. The only things we missed were a bar of soap in the bathroom and fresh milk and maybe a couple of rusks in the kitchen. Because we were on our way to Cape Town, arrived in the middle of the night, and the house is some distance from town, we did not have these supplies in our overnight bag. One other upset was that the Safarinow website gives the distance from Three Sisters as 500m when it is in fact 11 km away on the N1 and another 15 km on a gravel road."

The Karoo dinner was superb, just a pity that the drinks and the bread were served with the desert - desert was not worth the money though. Be careful of the road to Taaiboschfontein (Loxton road)in rainy and snowy weather."

  "Ons familie (ouderdomme tussen 21 - 54) het oorgebly in die Jaghuis. Dit het ons vakansie net op die regte voet afgeskop. Dit was absoluut salig onder 'n pragtige sterrehemel. Die kos was uit die boonste gestaltes; heerlike bord boerekos. Ons kon nie vir beter gevra het nie. En toe ons planne onverwags op pad terug verander was Francel baie gaaf en het uit haar pad gegaan om ons te akkommodeer. Ons sal enige tyd weer terug gaan, dalk die keer vir heelwat langer, dis die perfekte plek om te rus. En Schalkie, die springbokkie was die kersie op die koek. Ons harte het gesmelt. Our family (ages between 21 and 54) stayed in 'Jaghuis'. This really started off our holiday on the right foot. It was absolutely tranquil under the beautiful night sky. The food was top notch; great 'boerekos'. We could not have asked for better. Francel was very friendly and accommodating when our plans changed suddenly. We will stay here again anytime, probably for much longer as this is a great place to rest. And Schalkie, the little springbuck was the cherry on top and melted our hearts."
