Part of the Cape Dutch Quarters portfolio, the original wagon shed of the manor house is a lovely conversion that retains the charm of its original purpose, with a thatched roof and a high reed ceiling. Heavy wooden doors with forged hinges open onto an inner set of windows.
The unit consists of an open-plan living and lounge area, with a sofa set, a yellowwood dinner table, an antique French wardrobe, and a beautiful queen-size, extra-length, four-poster bed. The fully equipped kitchenette is perfect for light meals and is equipped with a microwave, a hot plate, a kettle, a toaster and a fridge. The charming en-suite bath and shower room is decorated with handmade tiles and Victorian finishes, while the extra-length bath is perfect for winter soaks and the separate open shower is ideal for cooling off in the summer.
The Wagon Shed also features a private veranda with a small private garden that looks onto Tulbagh's historic Church Street and is perfect for a barbecue or enjoying a warm Tulbagh evening under the vines. Guests also have full use of Tulbagh's Cape Dutch Quarters' pool, deck, gardens and roof terrace.
"A place where you really can relax and enjoy the great ambiance of Tulbagh. We went there for our anniversary and it was worth it. Everything was perfect. Karien and the other people were very friendly and aaccommodate us with the perfect place. Thank you very much for making our anniversary perfect. Would definitely recommend you guys for anyone, who wants to escape the hectic circumstances of the Cape, mwah"
"Cape Dutch Quarters is an absolute dream, a slice of paradise. And Tulbagh is surely the most charming little place in the Western Cape. I recommend both to anyone seeking an escape from city life into another, quieter, more magical world. But be warned: you won't want to leave! Your hosts at CDQ, Jayson and Marcel, will make you feel so at home and at ease--as though the place is yours."
