Built to impress, this fully equipped mansion is situated in Tulbagh's Church Street and sleeps up to 12 guests in three double Family Suites. Accommodation is self-catering, although breakfast in the banqueting hall is available upon request.
Each of the three wings consists of a large king-size room with a separate twin room and private bathroom. The large main bedroom boasts a queen-size, four-poster bed and is beautifully furnished in period Cape antiques and objects of art. The modern en-suite bathroom features a large bath and a walk-in shower. The large twin room alongside is accessed via a private passage. All rooms are equipped with cotton linen, towels, fans and heaters.
The house enjoys a private front veranda and garden which heads down to Tulbagh's Church Street. The front door opens into a large reception room, a banqueting hall and a large sitting room. The enormous farm-style kitchen is fully equipped and opens onto a substantial back veranda which in turn leads down to a large swimming pool and shaded garden.
The property is walled with an outside dining area ideal for family meals, braais and pool parties on lovely Tulbagh days. The property is well suited to hosting functions, birthdays and celebrations for larger groups.
"The setting, the building, furnishings, fittings and decor are exquisite. We enjoyed the CDs with the down-loaded music, which was stunning- nice touch.

We were unfortunately let down by the contact details on the booking confirmation. The number happened to be an overseas one. When we arrived we found out from a passerby that Jenny had the keys. When we phoned her she was busy on a pressing private matter. We were asked to go and drink a cup of tea somewhere whilst she was busy. The result was that we were only able to enter the cottage at about 17,30 and after a three hour wait."
