  "Beautifull view and location.3 Yorkies was comfy and save.Host didnt want them on the premises without supervision and they have to join where ever we go. Microwave, toaster didn't work.Was replaced the next morning after contacting the host.Privacy was rudely intrude by workers who came to replace.Toilet didn't work, was fixed and broke again.Bathroom was fluid due to the broken toilet.Eatable gifts was taken from out premises, when microwave was replaced, host just deny this.She then accused us of being difficult and ask to leave if not satisfied with above mentioned, without any apology at all! She further insist that we pay R400 extra (in cash), for the 2nd adult. ( which I refused)This after the bill was settled a week before,with her knowledge and clearly mentioned in an email, that we will be 2 adults.Will be a comfy place to stay if you didn't expect to much, Hendriena polishes up her people skill's and all the worn out utensils and tools are replaced!!"

  "Loved the close proximity to the beach, I could see and hear the beach from my balcony, I stay for one to enable me to be closer to the airport for my early morning flight, next time I would book at least for two nights to fully enjoy the beauty of the area. The host was wonderful, welcoming, friendly and the communication prior to check in was much appreciated."

  "will not book at Carpe Diem again, place is dark and so "cold" stove, microwave and taps not much to brag about, not once did owner come around to check, we asked for a bin bag never received lets just say we did better holidays in Umdloti"

  "Umdloti is a lovely place with a beautiful natural tidal pool and warm seas and I liked the fact that our place was a 2 min.walk from the sea. However the flat's back bedroom was dark and cold and had a serious mould problem. Everyday we had to take my daughter's mattress and bedding out into the sun to air. And because of the marauding Vervet monkeys in the area which kept coming into the flat to steal food, it was very hard to air the place. We had to continuously be vigilant about packing away every scrap of food (even our vitamins) and putting a stool on the bin so the monkeys didn't create chaos. It made relaxing rather illusive. Also the sewerage air vent of the main house comes out on the lawn in front of the flat right where the table and bench for relaxing are, which makes trying to relax in the one patch of lovely winter sun the flat offers rather smelly. The owner is friendly and if the mould is dealt with the place would be very charming as it is in a lovely setting and is private and quiet. And I'm sure in summer the shade would be welcome."

  "Mrs. Meyer and her family's hearts are as big as the sea.We enjoyed our stay and had the best experience in terms of hospitality and sightseeing. I would definitely recommend Carpe Diem to anyone who wishes to visit Umdloti beach."

  "What an awesome place, we had a fun stay, everything was clean and there. The doggy babies had such fun on the beach and at home we knew they were safe too, they even enjoyed the view of the ocean and ships from the stoep! Well worth visiting. Very peaceful, and the owners friendly."

  "The place was clean and fresh and also give a R25 discount. Well done The monkeys made my staff very uncomfortable,You could not even leave the balcony door open as these monkeys were wild and vigorous.We were asked to not make any noise as not to disturb the permanent residence, Whats a holiday with no fun and laughter. I spent most of my days out of the apartment and returned very late to prevent any unwanted incidence. There are no laundry facilities no iron we had to were squashed clothes. I was asked by Mrs Venter the owner not to have my daughter with us at night because it was a couples room. However the were a double bed as well as a single bed.I offered to pay the extra fees for my daughter."

We had a fabulous stay at Carpe Diem - our hosts Hendrina and Gert were the cherry on top of the beautiful views and comfortable accommodation. We are counting the sleeps to our next visit."
