Hillside House
Hillside House is a comfortable house located on the outskirts of Underberg. It offers self-catering accommodation and spectacular views of the Drakensberg. This well-equipped house caters for up to 10 people.
There are four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and an open-plan living area with a bar and dining room. The kitchen has all the modern appliances including a microwave, stove, oven and fridge-freezer. Adjacent to the kitchen is the bar and built-in fireplace. This is the ideal place to curl up in winter in front of the fire.
The house has a TV with DStv decoder that can be connected on request at an additional daily fee. There is cellphone reception and an alarm system. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement and we can arrange a cleaning service at an additional fee.

29 November 2014"We arrived Hillside in the afternoon for a three night stay after speaking with the property manager who did not seem to know too much about the house and was based hours away in Durban anyway, should we need anything. The house looks nice from the outside and has a lovely lawn. Though the inside is quite spacious, we were shocked to see how whomever runs this place scrimps to the point of ridiculousness. Examples: not one square of toilet paper (I am not talking extra rolls, just nothing in two bathrooms), no light bulbs in the dining room, tv room, kitchen, the stairs that have nails sticking out of handrail, lack of chairs at the dining room table (we had to use a vanity stool from a bedroom-house is advertised as "sleeps 10" and we were only 7). No surprise that there was no tea, coffee, sugar to greet a thirsty guest. A maid showed up one morning which we were never told about so we had to send her home as we had no idea if she was actually provided. The communication barrier made it impossible to know, but Jackie had never mentioned it. We have booked multiple houses and B&Bs but this was a huge mistake and it was no deal whatsoever. There are other options in Underberg which are likely much nicer and at an even better price. This was a joke. If we could give zero stars, we would."
