Huisie Ommie Hoek

Huisie Ommie Hoek was built in the 1800s and is now fully restored to a fully furnished free-standing cottage, situated along a quiet side street in Uniondale. Uniondale is a small country town in the Western Cape, at the entrances to Baviaanskloof and Langkloof, as well as Prince Alfred's pass.

The cottage consists of two bedrooms, a full bathroom, an open-plan living room with DStv and a fully equipped kitchen. All bedding and towels are provided. There is safe parking available on-site. Any meals can be booked by prior arrangement.

The picturesque Prince Alfred's pass connects the Klein Karoo with Plettenberg Bay and Knysna in the Tsitsikama. Uniondale is approximately a one-hour drive from George or Oudtshoorn, and a two-hour drive from Graaff Reinett along the N9. Uniondale boasts beautiful old buildings, various eateries, an old English fort from the Anglo-Boer war and a nine-hole golf course.

  • "Convenient stay in a lovely little town."

    01 February 2018

"The well appointed accommodation is conveniently situated in the lovely little town of Uniondale. The rooms are clean and spacious but there is not much scope for self catering. No braai area and no sink to wash dishes or prepare food. The parking is on street and a good distance to carry stuff. I had food crates, camping fridge etc. The host was very friendly and helpful. Good spot for those travelling through and are happy to eat at the restaurant next door."
