Aan't Kanaal B&B

Situated about 2km from the CBD of Upington, it offers bed and breakfast accommodation and a self-catering flat. Bordered by an expansive park on the one side and an irrigation canal - hence its name, Aant Kanaal - it also overlooks the renowned vineyards of the Green Kalahari. Here the tranquil atmosphere is enhanced by the song of indigenous birdlife.

After a taxing day at work or on the road, an ice-cold drink beside the large swimming pool or on the stoep will revive your flailing spirit. Come and relax in the homely atmosphere created at Aant Kanaal. Whether business or pleasure brings you here, you are assured of superior hospitality in these serene surrounds. The start for Upington Parkrun is also only 200m from Aan't Kanaal b&b.

The two en suite bedrooms and two self-catering flats are fitted with split-unit air conditioners, a necessity for our hot summers and cold winter nights. Families are welcome

  • "Clean and comfortable"

    12 February 2022

"Cottage was clean and had all the things we needed. The two aircons were a blessing. Maybe a small fenced area to keep guests dogs contained? The garden is huge and our dogs went off exploring. Also the traffic from the nearby business was a bit disturbing early morning as well as in the evening."

  • "Fantastic"

    18 August 2008

"Lovely, clean and comfortable. After travelling for two weeks and staying at many similar establishments, this rates as one of the best. Simple little things like a sink to wash travelers mugs, flasks etc; Fresh milk and extra drinks in the fridge; Clean, good quality linen and beds as well as the little extras like real shampoo in the bathroom and some magazines to read made this establishment rise above the rest. When you are living out of suitcases for a while, those things that make your life a little easier are genuinely appreciated. Breakfast was also great."

  • "Peaceful surroundings"

    16 January 2008

"We stayed 1 night at Aant Kanaal B&B before heading to the Kalahari National park there after another 2 nights before heading back home. We really enjoyed relaxing in pool surrounded by a beautiful garden in the mid summers day heat. In the morning, one is awakened by calls of birds in these peaceful surroundings. The owner was friendly, informative and we will definitely stay at this guest in the future."
