En route to the Transfrontier Kgalagadi Park (mere 50km from Upington), in the midst of the Green Desert on the farm Uitsig is a holiday destination that seems to have evolved from a movie makers imagination, offering the visitor a firsthand embrace of nature with all the luxurys of modern life. There is something to please each weary traveler, such as the warm and stylishly rustic guesthouse offering its patrons a cosy dining room, vibrant bedrooms and an authentic Kalahari Farm, Kitchen Shop where one can purchase true South African gifts and fresh products. The bush camp known as the Uitsig meaning the view, consists of individual lodges, which are designed from interwoven wooden poles and branches and creates a feeling of being one with nature. All the lodges have fully equipped and private bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms with a truly African theme. The curio shop offers an wide range of bushman products! Camp sites available. Each campsite has a private braai area and a breathtaking view; you could walk for miles with only natures silence for company and think you had only taken a few steps. Bring your own quad bike and enjoy the ride, or have fun on our 4x4 trail.

"Baie skoon en netjies. Onoortreflike gasvryheid. Sorg tot in die fynste detail: braaivleisvuur gereed gemaak, sepies en badsoute, sjokolade en ietsie soets vir die koue. Pragtige dekor. Uitstekende verblyf op 'n werkende plaas. Nuttige "biblioteek" met naslaanwerke oor die Kalahari se fauna en flora."

"What an experience! Clean, comfortable and a stunning reception. Totally worth the 100Km detour from/to Upington. We were re-directed into a stunning cottage set-up due to the fact that a big Kalahari storm was brooding, conditions that could have been a bit uncomfortable in the camping site where we were booked. An interesting side-note - all electricity is wind/solar generated! Absolutely recommended."

"We stayed in the bush camp - what a beautiful spot! An enchanting little house made of sticks with a thatch roof, comfortably equipped with everything we needed & more for a very pleasant afternoon & night there. The dam & the water birds provided great entertainment for the kids, & it was totally peaceful & private. Thanks, Riana & Paul - we will be back!"

"We have been there for the second time and will go again on our way to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are very well looked after. Last time we had a Bush Hut, it is a very nice african style stay. This time we booked the hut again, but due to thunder storm and very heavy rain, we changed to a 2 bedroom house. The staff was very helpful and it was possible without any problems."

"Paul and Riana were supberb hosts, seeing to our every need, they were friendly helpful and most accomodating.The food was excellent and accommodation better than expected. Learning about the farming in the Kalahari was enlightening and fascinating. I would recommend this establishment to anybody."
