  "We had a good experience at Olievenfontein, with great host and hostess. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and there were friendly staff. The reserve is located in a good spot with some nice game viewing. One downfall was the accommodation was not suited to cold weather, and we unfortunately went during a cold front. Also, there could be more facilities / activities (e.g. table tennis, snooker, etc). The dirt road was quite bumpy in spots if you have a normal sedan."

  "We had a lovely relaxing stay at Olievenfontein. We stayed in Sable cottage which was neatly appointed and we received cleaning services twice a day which was really fantastic! We enjoyed a lovely game drive and the kids loved running around in the open areas.We felt secure and very comfortable.Only one concern was that the kettle was full of gunk which needs to be cleaned out, possibly even replaced. Never seen a build up like that before. We used a pot to boil out water on the stove.Other than that we were well looked after and even provided with a pot of boiling water for coffee on our last day as the power was out which was very thoughtful and much appreciated!"

  "Had a nice stay at the Olievenfontein Game Reserve.Service was ok but at the price could have expected more.Lodge looking out on bush but not IN the bush.No restaurant services when we were there.Nice atmosphere but units are close to each other on upper parts of lodge.Very clean and comfortable units will everything that you would need!"

  "1st Johan was rude to us on the phone,he said we are wasting his time when we called him to ask for dirdurections from Kranskop as per his instructions,instead of helping us out he asked us where did we stop because it's late,he started telling us the gate closes at 7 mind you the car is moving and we missed the off ramp,my wife was so angry she told him where to get off that's where he started treating us like paying customers,we also recorded the conversation with him on the phonesome how we managed to reach an agreement n he gave us directions and we arrived but we didn't want to go anymore because of the treatment we receivedThe next day we were told the gate closes at 18:00 I mean is this a boarding school or my mamas house? We felt trapped and we were prisoners and I'm sure this doesn't happen to white folks........Stop abusing black people!!!!!"

  "We had such an awesome stay. All the staff where friendly and professional. Service was awesome. The unit we stayed in (Wildebeest) was lovely and we had everything we needed. Love the big verandas! The jungle gym right on our doorstep kept our 3 year old busy enough for us to relax. Jennifer arranged for a baby bath and camping cot to be set up in our unit for our 4 month old without us even asking. We did the walking trail, its short enough to do with the kids and we saw some zebra, kudu and giraffe while walking. We booked the special (40% discount) last minute and feel so blessed to have experienced this gorgeous place at a price we could afford."

  "Will never return there not worth the price. Owner cannot accept criticism as he always has a defensive answer. This place is definitely not for kids. The accommodation needs fixing and the shower floor in the Zebra lodge has mildew"

  "We had a fabulous stay. Johan and Jenny as well as all the staff were fantastic and friendly. We were 7 people who stayed in the Giraffe Lodge and it was brilliant, loads of space and all the comforts of home with everything we needed. It was very clean and neat. Wonderful to sit overlooking the watering hole to watch all the animals. It is far from any major towns so make sure you bring all your food, drinks, toiletries - any essentials. Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city to come and de-stress and relax. Really enjoyed the game drive."

Olievenfontein, Johan en Jennifer asook hulle personeel het alle verwagtings oortref - ons sien julle binnekort! Die keer was dit die Botha familie en binnekort vat ons die Kemp/de Beer familie om dit saam met ons te geniet. Ons kan nie genoeg dankie s nie. Olievenfontein, Johan en Jennifer is uniek!"

  "OPGA was certainly one of the finest Game Reserves I have ever visited. Not only was the accommodation everything perfect, the hosts (Johan and Jennifer) and helpers were also just as friendly and always there to help. We enjoyed it so much, we even stayed over longer.Had a lovely morning game drive and saw almost all the game on the farm. The view from the lookout point was awesum.This is really one of the most affordable places to visit and for sure coming back....soon."

  "Dear readers, it is with sadness I write to you that our stay at Olievenfontein PGR was much to short.This is now a self catering facility that truly deserves 6 stars if this would be possible.Johan and Jennifer many thanks for your personal attention we got from you and the staff.From the moment we arrived at the reception receiving a warm welcome we knew this was going to be a great Easter break.We enjoyed the walks of which certain parts were really challenging our fitness to the excellent game drive Johan took us on and the history we received from OPGR.Although there is no big five to view it was a great game drive with stunning views on the deck.Doing some laps in a well maintained pool inhaling nature's beauty and later on enjoying a fire at the boma with a drink was the ending of a splendid day.Thank you Johan and Jeniffer.We are sure our paths will cross again when we return to OPGR."
