Shondoro Mountain Retreat

Nestled in the Waterberg Mountains, Shondoro Mountain Retreat offers three luxury stone and thatch cottages 50 km from Modimolle. The retreat offers self-catering accommodation, mountain biking trails on farm roads and natural paths and is ideal for families, couples and groups.

The three thatch-roof cottages all have en-suite bedrooms and outdoor living areas. Each cottage is fully equipped for self-catering and includes a kitchen with a fridge, oven, complementary tea and coffee tray and a private boma. There is a communal swimming pool for the warm summer days.

Activities at the retreat include bird watching, game viewing, hiking and mountain biking in this peaceful environment.

"We enjoyed our stay very much: the warm welcome and the friendly but discreet approach of our hosts (as well as the wild life! Nyala and impala) was much appreciated. The cottages are perfect: substantial and attractive in design, well equipped and tastefully appointed, with everything working, including the newly installed air-con, though the natural coolness of the thatched interiors made it superfluous for us. We'd like to go back. Thank you."

"What a wonderful get away ... just what we needed to get away from stresses of the city. The accommodation is neat, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the freedom to just walk,mountain bike and relax without too many other people around.Rory and Yvette are wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back."
