  "Friendly hosts. Cleaning of chalet not done. A bit more attention to the general housekeeping is needed. Area not yet too many flowers but on our travels to Strandfontein and the next day home via Veldrift we saw beautiful patches of flowers.<br/><br/>Establishments response:<br/><br/>Cottages are self-catering and guests are supposed to tend to the cottage during their stay. Housekeeping are done after guests has left."

  "Such a wonderful stay here. 5 nights. Utter relaxation.Sakkie and Marietjie are amazing hosts, very friendly and helpful, and good conversation!If you're coming here out of season, be warned it's hot, but since we expected all that anyway, we found it such an amazing time. Still plenty to see - especially at night. And what a view!If you're interested in star watching, it's a great spot, and they even have a red-lit platform to mount your telescopes.I definitely recommend and can't wait to visit there again!"

  "Absolutely charming weekend at Lankverwacht. The converted caravan was warm, snug, and in excellent condition - absolutely perfect for four friends on a roadtrip. The amenities were all very comfortable and convenient. As we were about to leave, we noticed that our car's bumper had come loose, but our friendly hosts came to the rescue, quickly fixed us up, and helped us get back on the road. Would definitely recommend."

  "We only spent one night at Lankverwacht Guestfarm but had a brilliant time! The views from the farm are stunning, and we saw some amazing birds from the comfort of our verandah. The cottage itself is charming and comfortable (good value for money), and even though we did not get to meet the hosts, Sakkie &amp; Marietjie, in person, they were so warm and hospitable in our dealings with them. Highly recommended and looking forward to going back ourselves!"

  "We had a lovely one night stop over on the way home. The owners were friendly and the cottage was clean and neat. It is a very basic cottage, but has everything you need. It has also been thoughtfully constructed for protection against the wind and faces away from the road towards a great mountain view. Just right as a stop over! Remember the mosquito repellent - they are there in abundance!!"

  "We stayed two nights at this lovely cottage and wished we had stayed longer. The cottage is well appointed and very private. You can walk around the farm and see some of the many nice succulent plants.<div>The skies were very dark and we had some of the best star gazing during our 32 day trip here. We were able to do a bit of astro-photography while staying here.</div><div>Not far from the town if you need to get anything. The water has a bit of a taste so it is best to bring plenty of drinking water. Other than that everything about this place was great including our friendly hosts.<span style="line-height: 1.5;">A relaxing and quiet place in a beautiful setting.</span></div>"

  "A beautiful location, total privacy and stunning surroundings make this a very special place to stay for a while. The cottage was fully equipped and even though it did not have AC, the summer nights were fairly cool so it was not needed.<div><br /></div><div>Very nice hosts. The skies are fairly dark at this location so if you don't have clouds, the stargazing is excellent. We did a bit of Astrophotography just outside our patio, which was very convenient. In summer the vegetation is dry yet the scenery is still nice. You are able to walk and explore at leisure sine the terrain is fairly open. Many nice succulent plants. During the wetter times of the year the vegetation would look very green and succulent.</div><div><br /></div><div>The hosts have put together a guide of some of the plants in their farm and it is a very useful guide. During the flower season you are able to see many kinds of beautiful blooms.</div><div><br /></div><div>We would return to this place and stay longer if we get the chance.</div>"

  "A rustic house that provides the necessary amenities for a night over. Unfortunately for us there was a problem with the hot water system and we could not have a hot shower that night (temperature outside was +- 8 degrees Celsius). The owner did try to accommodate us the next morning by offering us a shower in his private residence. If you are looking for peace and quiet, then this is the place to go."

  "The photos of this cottage fail to do it justice and I wish this unassuming cottage could remain a secret. This rustic, well equipped place is ideally located withthe mountain forming the backdrop and the wide open spaces on the opposite side. The typically spectacular West Coast sunset can be fully savoured from this vantage point while you unwind with your braai fire. After meeting the owners and staying in the cottage, I am convinced that the desire to share their appreciation of nature rather than financial gain motivates them to make this cottage available."

Our boys had a blast though as they enjoyed walking up the hills and collecting "fossils"Its perfect for a family if you are willing to squash a bit with sleeping arrangements.   "Stunning location, perfectly positioned half way between Nieuwoudtville and Vanrhynsdorp. Great view, very cozy cottage, no flowers in March so we'll be back for those. We spent both nights on the vintage Airflex sleeper couch on the stoep, which proved to be very comfortable ! Sakkie and Marietjie are perfect hosts, accomodating and friendly, enquiring about your needs but not overbearing as some hosts can be! We stayed 2 nights and will definitely be back for flower season. Thanks Sakkie and Marietjie !"
