  • "Die klein goedjies wat tel"

    30 May 2016

"Hierdie mooi gastehuis het dadelik ons oog gevang op Victoria Wes. En die diens het ook nie teleurgestel nie. Gasvry, behulpsaam en 'n oog vir die kleiner detaille. Op ons vraag oor aandetes op die dorp, is ons dadelik gehelp met heerlike etes wat aan ons kamer gelewer is, en wat ons op one eie tyd in ons mikrogolf kon opwarm. Puik!"

  • "Excellent value for money and ambience"

  • "Like the curate's egg - good in parts!"

    01 November 2015

"On arrival, we found the facility in the process of extensive renovations, with attendant noise and dust.<div>The check-in process was morose at best.</div><div>The room was clean and well-appointed, with attractive decor. However, the shower rose had disintegrated, giving off a solid stream of water. This defect was pointed out to the management, but I was very surprised that they did not know about it, as a cursory inspection would have revealed the problem.</div><div>When the renovations have been completed, Kingwills will be a good stop-over, as it has a delightful garden and a nice swimming pool. A major drawback is that the restaurant kitchen closes at 17:00!</div>"

  • "Skip this B&B"

    14 July 2015

"<p>This B&amp;B misrepresents itself as a 4 star B&amp;B.</p><p>The bedding had not been washed. The carpets were dirty. The duvet and curtains are 5 years overdue to be replaced. The paint was peeling. </p><p>If we hadn't arrived so late I would have looked for another B&amp;B in town.</p><p>My recommendation is to give this B&amp;B a wide birth. Skip it! Skip it! Skip it!</p><p></p>"

"Oulike plekkie & mooi skoon. Stort was fantasties. Net die parkeerplek is baie klein & my kinders kon nie die swembad sien nie. Ek ook nie. Waar is hy?<i>Nice place & clean . Shower was fantastic. Only the parking lot is small and my kids could not see the pool . I did not either. Where is it?</i>"

  • "Welcoming and accommodating hosts"

    09 September 2014

"We got the royal treatment from the owners. They went out of their way to accommodate us. On short notice they even supplied us with a lovely dinner. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We would return for sure."

  • "Not for Self Catering"

    01 September 2014

"The booking confirmed self-catering but on arrival the units booked had no facilities at all. One room was finally moved to a unit with some facilities but they were totally inadequate.I would not book there in future."

  • "Disappointing stayover in Victoria West"

    29 January 2014

"Our daughter and son-in-law spent a night at Kingwills in December and raved about the great buffet dinner that they had there and recommended them for our trip to Cape Town.Quaint accommodation in line with the price charged. Disappointing that as we were the only couple booked in that night, we were told that no dinner was available. Okay in a town with acceptable alternatives, however in Victoria West we were given two choices. The Merino Restaurant which from the outside is dirty with grubby PWD brown paint and loiterers hanging about with one passed out outside. The look of the place put us off so in fairness we did not go in or try their food. The second choice was "Die N12 Padstal" which is the equivalent of an old style small town cafe or modern truck stop, also with no curb appeal from outside or ambiance inside, but it was clean and the toasted cheese sandwiches and slap chips that we eventually had for supper were okay.Clive, the owner of Kingwills told us after dinner time that they would have provided us with a "bord kos" by prior arrangement. This is not on their website, nor were we told this when making our booking and paying our deposit or when checking in at 13h45.The DSTV was not working so we plugged the mosquito repellent widget in and turned in for an early night and much needed sleep. This was not to be as we were awakened by a squadron of mosquito's attacking us. Obviously the mosquito repellant widget was not working either as it was stone cold. We packed up at 05h30 and left at 06h00 skipping breakfast. There is nothing in Victoria West to ever lure us back even for a one night stopover. On future trips we will drive the extra 40 kilometers on the Loxton Road and book into Melton Wold for good Karoo hospitalty and food."

  • "Koel lafenis in die Karoo!"
