"The ambience of the venue, hospitality and friendliness is above this world"
"THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING STAY. OUR ROOM WAS ALWAYS CLEAN WITH FRESH CLEAN TOWELS AND STAFF ALWAYS FRIENDLY."
"After viewing the photos of Stucky's guesthouse and comparing the prices with previous establishments we stayed at in Volksrust before, we decided to stay at Stucky's for the weekend, as we were attending a wedding nearby. Initial communication was very friendly and enquiring for an extra nights accommodation was met with a friendly reply, stating they would keep the room and we could pay for the room when we arrived.<div><br /></div><div>On arrival we received a warm greeting and was promptly shown to our room. The room was part of a building that was completely separate from the rest, which seemed a bit odd, as it was next to the outbuildings. We thought this was due to the venue potentially being fully booked, with the wedding guests. Our room (17A) was clean and tidy.</div><div><br /></div><div>Apart from the bed being very comfy, the first nights sleep left a lot to be desired. A large eucalyptus tree stands right next to the building, which has a corrugated iron roof, resulting in constant noise when the seeds fall on the roof. Paired with the noises at 06:30, I guess of employees getting ready for work, it resulted in a bad nights sleep.</div><div><br /></div><div>Our shower was not a lot better, as every minute, you were surprised by 15 seconds of ice cold water, before the warm water would return. My wife also had difficulties blow-drying her hair, as there was no mirror at the dresser table and also no wall socket to plug in the hair-dryer. The only socket (multi-plug) available was next to the bed.</div><div><br /></div><div>The breakfast was excellent, well prepared by the friendly staff, with ample cereals, bread, fruit, yoghurt etc.</div><div><br /></div><div>After returning from the wedding, we noticed that there were no other guests and that we were the only ones staying at Stucky's. This left us puzzled as to the choice of room that was provided, as there are rooms available right next to the pool, which does not feel so separate.</div><div><br /></div><div>Stucky's was an unimpressive stay and at it's price point, there are guesthouses which provide far superior accommodation in the Volksrust area.</div>"
"Ons verblyf by Stucky was onvergeetlik.26Sept 2015.Vriendelike diens lekkerste slaap en uitstekende kos.Sal dit hoog aanbeveel"
"We enjoyed our stay at Stucky's Guest House. The room was beautiful, food was delicious, staff was extremely friendly and so helpful. Will definitely recommend the guest houseto friends and family to visit!! Thank you"
"When we arrived at the guest house, no one was there to greet us, only a note in the window giving us our room number. After finding our room, we were greeted by a dirty towel which was placed outside the door as a "welcome" mat. Inside the room, there were many stains on the ceiling and on the rug. The extra blanket was in a bundle inside the cupboard instead of being folded neatly. And there were tiles missing in the bathroom. After complaining we did however receive a better room.<br><b>Establishment's Response:</b><br><i>Our establishment is unfortunately only open from 09:00 -12:00 and 17:00 -23:00 on public holidays and Saturdays and Sundays, hence no-one was available to welcome the guests. However, when we opened at 17:00 , and welcomed the guest, we were told that the guest was unhappy. We need to put things in perspective: we had 400mm of rain in 2 weeks time, and it is really an impossible task to keep mud out of the rooms, so although we try to keep our rooms in pristine condition it was not possible with the continous rain. The room we gave the client initially, is a brand new room completed in December 2012, and had no tiles missing as per the clients comment. We did upgrade the customer to better room, and we are glad that he was happy with it. We really try to keep our customers happy, and prepared a vegetarian meal for the clients on the Friday night, but they never pitched for dinner, or for breakfast. We are proud of our establishment, and really try to keep our customers happy and offer a great experience. One needs to bear in mind that we are a 3 rated star establishment, and we are priced as a 3 star rated establishment as well, and one can not expect a 5 star establishment at the rates we give.</i>"
