"Very friendly reception. Nice warm stay with a Bosca stove inside. If we ever need to stay in that area again we will stay at Forellenhof again."

"Great place to stay. loved it all"
"The cottage was lovely. It is fully equipped with everything one would need. The fire is very efficient and warms the entire cottage. Undercover parking, electric blankets, beautiful views from the verandah. We appreciated the plunger and filter coffee supplied. Fantastic!"
"Warm harted welcome , amaizing place which caters for all your needs."
"We stayed at Forellenhof for three nights. The Unit bedding, cutlery, cleaning service and hospitality of the horst Johan and Ronell were excellent.<br/>When visiting Wakkerstroom again I would definitely stay with them again.<br/>I can recommend them to any one looking for accommodation in Wakkerstroom<br/><br/>"
"Beautiful views. Comfortable room. Nice walks. Lots of birds. Delicious breakfast. Worth a return visit."
"We stayed for 3 nights at the 2 bedroom Pretty Pig cottage. Despite the cold winter nights we werekept warm by the electric blankets and firestove. The cottage is situated next to a small dam and I can just imagine how gorgeous it must be in summer. Even in winter we saw many birds from our patio. The owners were courteous and friendly. The kids loved seeing chickens, sheep, cattle and horses. We loved exploring the small town which is close by.<div>Beware of roadworks on the Standerton road from Johannesburg which added an hour to our journey. Rather take the N17 to Bethal and then Volksrust - or check with the owners.</div>"
"<p>Staying at Forellenhof was a great experience with Johan and Ronelle being exceptional hosts ,the accommodation is tastefully done and very comfortable perfect to unwind and rejuvenate.<span style="line-height: 1.5;">Thanks once again</span></p>"
"Our stay at Forellenhof was the highlight of the weekend. Amazing views and everything you need for a marvelous stay. Will recommend this to everyone."
"Ronelle and Johann were the most amazing hosts, willing to share their beautiful place and their beautiful birds and animals. We had the most amazing time. The cottage was so well equipped and every need was catered for. The view was stunning and we just had the best of times. I totally recommend this place."
"Braai on the stoop with your favourite tipple, look out over rolling farmland interspersed with small dams and sheep, horses and cattle grazing nearby, surrounded in the distance by hills and mountains, with the wind the only sound in the tall trees. With all the comfort of a well laid out and equipped fully functional cottage that is home for such a short the only regret is having to leave."
"Superb accommodation and the owners (Johan and Ronelle) are lovely people."
"Our cottage at Forellenhof was very well appointed with good quality linen on the beds and everything you could need in the kitchen. Hosts Johan and Ronelle were very attentive and helpful and on hand. Ronelle made us a very nice supper. It's also well situated to visit all the birding spots in the vicinity. Would certainly recommend."
"Top notch owner-run facility. The place to stay in Wakkerstroom... we will be back."
"Breath-taking scenery...It's a matter of just looking around and enjoying the beauty. The design of the interior itself has aesthetics and a sense of earthiness. Loved our stay."
"Having travelled the world, I have never come across such amazing hosts as Johan and Ronelle. The thought that goes into making the difference in a holiday, comes naturally to them. I arrived as one only can from the madness of JHB and left with a calmness I have not felt for years.Every morning I was delighted by the beautiful sunrises and enamoured with the little town of Wakkerstroom which is steeped in history. The fact that we could take our dogs was a definite bonus. My 10 year old son claims to have had the best holiday of his life. I have with out a doubt left a little of my heart behind and cant wait to return in the summer."
"We really enjoyed our stay at Forellenhof. The cottage is well equipped with a beautiful view. Hope to visit again in the future!"
"Complete peace and quiet, Forellenhof offers everything for self-catering at an unbeatable price. I will take my family as soon as possible."
"Awesomeness!!! The one word describes our experience... Beautiful area, stunning view, peace and quiet farm atmosphere, great hosts who made the stay so relaxed and comfortable, beautiful unit etc etc... This is the place where I see myself retiring!!! Absolutely worth a visit! Thanks Johan and Ronel for sharing."
"What a beautiful little piece of heaven. We only stayed a night much to our disappointment as we were in the midst of a long travel and needed a stop over for the night. The owners, Johan and Ronelle went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, thanks! Amazing touches that make the place magical- a smiling face on a willow tree, a swinging bench by the vlei...true hits with our little children. We would definately recommend staying there...and longer than one night if you can."
"If peace, quiet and tranquility in comfort is what you are after, Forellenhof is your place to go. No 'forelle' as yet, but plans are in the offing to introduce them to the property. Lovely views from the stoep and although Wakkerstroom is only down the mountain, one can't see it, which adds to the peace."
