  • "Peaceful Sanctuary"

    13 August 2022

"Loved everything about our stay. Place is peaceful & quiet. Veiws are breath-taking, not to mention the stunning surroundings of nature.Acorn cottage is a beautiful sanctuary perfect for couples wanting some quiet time. The decor is beautiful & somewhat homey. Housekeeper was amazing and helpful. The cottage is stacked with all the necessary amenities for self catering. The TV picture quality was not great. Please check the ceiling roof corner against the wall from the bedroom under the curtain. Sand seems to drizzle through that space onto the carpet. This makes a scary sound especially at night which is very disturbing. I'm sure this can be fixed easily.Thank you to Abbi & team. We had a wonderful time away from home."

  • "A Lttle Bit of Heaven"

    13 October 2009

"Having driven so many dusty miles to arrive and be welcomed and pampered in such beautiful surroundings could not have been better. We only wished we had more time there. The room was fabulous. It is a definite must for next time."

  • "Peace and Tranquility at Bovlei"

    14 September 2006

"Bovlei Valley Retreat is set in the most peaceful and tranquil area imaginable. Surrounded by lavender fields and vineyards, the beautifully maintained Cape Dutch house and converted stables stand in stark contrast to the mountains. The reception is friendly while not being smothering. Dinner was served in the restaurant in the main house. I would have preferred to have been able to choose a meal from a menu, but, possibly since we were the only guests, we were offered a single choice of meal. This was well prepared, but being the only guests, we felt a little overwhelmed by the large dining room and would have preferred a cosy corner. Breakfast was the best - served outside on the lawn next to the lavender fields and was a veritable feast! We would definitely go back there and would highly recommend it to anyone."
