Welcome to Sauvignon Country Lodge, a 100-year-old classified wine farm in Cape Dutch style in the heart of the Cape Winelands, renovated to perfection and utilizing its beautiful historic features with all modern amenities.
Our four luxuriously appointed suites and well-fitted self-catering apartment boast breathtaking views of endless vineyards, fruit orchards and majestic mountain ranges.
Sauvignon Country Lodge features a 3300-square-meter landscaped garden which includes a swimming pool, a pond, a breakfast terrace and a braai area. It is located on a rural country road amidst the vineyards, only 4 km away from the impressive Groenberg mountains.
Sauvignon remains within walking distance of the town center and its university. It is very close to shops, restaurants and many award-winning wine estates. Wellington was awarded international Top Wine Area in 2010.
"I will recommend any one to stay hear. They served me with excellence and even did my washing. Thank you so much."
"Loved the breakfast! The name is misleading cos it is not in the country. In the town between the school and the prison!"
"We were most surprised by the large rooms (particularly the one). It is very lovely, spacious, has a swimming pool and lapa facilities for having a braai, a lovely garden and a great breakfast. Thank you Kris and Mariska!"
"We were attending a wedding in Wellington and did not want to drive back to Cape Town late at night. Sauvignon Country Lodge was 10 minutes away from the wedding venue and was exactly what we needed - a clean and neat room with a big bed and a full bathroom. The owner, Mariska, was accommodating when she heard we were bringing our two month old baby and put a cot and a changer in the room. Secure parking was available and the continental breakfast that was served the next morning had a delicious spread of cheeses, fruit, croissants, yoghurt with juice, coffee and tea. I would highly recommend Sauvignon Country Lodge for a relaxing getaway in the Wellington area. Thank you, Mariska, for your warm hospitality!"
"<p>The rooms are very clean and well equipped.Stylish Dcor. The breakfast is excellent.</p><p>To top it all,the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!</p>"
"Not what we expected. Website description is misleading. We had an upstairs apartment. Treacherous stairs to navigate, very hot and it wasn't serviced daily. Soap not provided. Wedding on last day meant we had a bad nights rest before a long driveEstablishment's ResponseHi Peta-Jane Muller, the apartment looks exactly as described on the website, the stairs are not at all dangerous (quite to the contrary, there is a very robust thick handrail on the one side and the wall and there is only air conditioning in the bed/bathrooms, not in the whole of the apartment. Self catering units are not daily serviced unless specified and paid for in advance. We did clean the apartment twice. There were plenty of towels and we cleaned up the braai area every time it was used. There are no guest room amenities such as soap and shampoo. There was a wedding on the last day but that ended at 24:00 sharp. The volume of the music was already turned down at 23:00 out of respect.Kind regards Kris Verspreet"
"We spent 4 days in Wellington at Sauvignon Blanc Lodge. It is ideally situated for short drives to all the main wine estates and restaurants in the area. The rooms were spotless, bright and comfortable. Breakfast was well thought out and copious. The owners were friendly and most helpful whenever we came for suggestions. It really felt like staying with friends. We will certainly come back if we are in the area again."
"We had the most fabulous stay at Sauvignon Country Lodge. The accommodation was superb, the breakfasts even better, and the hosts really the best. We couldnt have wished for a more pleasant and relaxing 4-night stay in Wellington. Our hostess saw to our every need. We had my husbands mother visiting us for a day, his brother joining us for breakfast one morning, and even though it was not self-catering, she provided us with everything that we needed for our dinners as well. All without any questions and extra costs, as well as a big smile. Our host even gave my husband some advice about a funny sound in his vehicle. Their daughter played some games with us, and Max (one of the dogs) behaved as if he was our own pet. Really a place worth visiting. We will definitely go back if the opportunity arises again."
