In a tranquil, indigenous garden close to the ocean, cliff path and whales lies House on Westcliff. Each charming bedroom has its own garden entrance, heated towel rail, fridge, tea and coffee facilities, and a shared satellite TV. We also offer secure parking on our premises as well as credit card facilities.
Enjoy the beautiful garden beside the solar heated pool. Relax in the cosy lounge under thatch and enjoy our original African art, good music, and books which will introduce you to the area and its nature, while farm fresh breakfasts are served in the dining room overlooking the garden.
We are located just a few minutes' walk to the harbour for boating, cruising, and dining, or you may choose to go to the centre of town for museums, galleries, and the many shops and restaurants. A few minutes' drive will take you to the beautiful beaches of Hermanus, and shark cage diving and boat based whale watching are organised from House on Westcliff on a daily basis in season.
"Nice garden to enjoy and take some photos. Could walk a long way and enjoy the sea and surroundings. Friendly host and great breakfast. Room was great with a big bathroom."
"The relaxing garden made the guest house feel special."
"We (two couples) stayed only one night, but the hostel was well placed to get to the sea (just 100m) and to the harbour where we ate in a very good restaurant recommended by our hosts. Some rooms are filed in a separate "garden house" (when you step out you are right in a small garden) and are well equipped. The bathroom could be nicer, but everything was clean and in good condition. Unfortunately we couldn't take advantage of the nice garden and pool as the weather was too cold and windy 2nd week of November."
"Great !"
"Very enjoyable"
"Dramatic decor. Beds were comfortable, sunken bath was gorgeous, attention to detail was faultless. Breakfast choice was plentiful and diverse, hosts were charming."
"We spent a night at Westcliff this July (2007) and found it to be everything we hoped for! We were welcomed by the lovely Honey, who was taking care of the guesthouse whilst the owners were on holiday - she was so friendly and welcoming and even came out in the rain to find us as we had gone for a walk without an umbrella! The room was very comfortable and we were given the use of a cot for our son. Breakfast was delicious and the main house itself beautifully decorated, the garden was also gorgeous. Thank you honey for a special stay!"
"Clean spacious room, lovely big soft bed. Good shower, and nice to have bath as well.<br/>Hospitable guests, good selection for breakfast, including yogurt, fruit, bread, cheese, stewed fruit.<br/>My only criticism is there was a poor choice for vegetarian breakfast, ie no veggie sausages or beans, and the eggs were not free range.<br/><br/>"
"The breakfast and the rooms were well prepared. Lovely place"
"The accommodation was very nice & value for money the staff was very helpful & considerate too.Unfortunately I only stayed 1 night as my son fell ill & I needed to get back home."
"Very helpful owners - house is on the cliff path and a lovely walk into town. We saw our first whales! Fantastic breakfasts."
