  "Place is mostly wonderful, but some disappointments.The coffee machine and kettle in the room comes with 1 coffee pod (for a room sleeping two), and no milk or tea (although those might be in the kitchen somewhere).shared kitchen is pretty much like a dorm kitchen, cupboards aren't labelled so you spend most of your time in there digging through cupboards to find what you are looking for. Also seems to be a lot of left behind food in the cupboards.The towels are old and thin. The parking out front isn't demarcated into bays, so if you arrive last you may not get place to park depending how other guests have parked. The hot tub was faulty which was the most disappointing as this was the reason we booked the room."

  "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whale Coast Lodge. Cheryl was very friendly, helpful and obliging. Nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. A bit of sprucing up needs to be done but she assured us this is going to be happening this year. We will definitely come back. Thank you for a lovely rest."

  "Guest house is very average in terms of furnishing and quality. <br /><br />We alsoreserved a room for two children and one adult and were provided with a roomwith only a double bed. The manager did not know how to deal with this situationand the idea that she should find another bed / stretcher (or buy one) wascompletely foreign to her.<br /><br />Some of the other guests in the house alsothought it was a good idea to start a party in the garden at 3am.<br /><br />Suggest you stay somewhere else"

  "<div>Unfortunately we were moved to the Guest House as they had a burst pipe in the room we were originally booked into. </div><div>They wereextremely apologetic for the move, but had made an excellent alternate plan, so our stay was short but we were well looked after. The room was well appointed, had plenty of spaceand was neat andclean. </div><div>Overall a very good place to stay.</div>"

  "Our stay was spoilt by the fact that the unit next door was rented out to a group of men that had a very rowdy party right through the night and the management was powerless to stop them. We were promised a refund but unfortunately they didn't keep their word."

  "Comfortable room, friendly staff. But the room we were given was noisy as the window faced the reception gate though which new guests were arriving, so afternoon naps were out. The bathroom was in a state of repair with cracked shower and incomplete concrete work. We were also locked out at night and had to phone for help"

Location close to but not on the ocean. efficient check in. comfortable, spacious, well maintained units and gardens.breakfast under the trees. the best was waking up to a shiny clean car (without asking for a clean)"

  "Thank you very much to such a wonderful stay at your lodge. For me and my husband it was what we both needed, relaxed environment witthout noise nor disturbances. The spa bath takes the prize I enjoyed it. No cleaning love it to bits. The no washing up of dishes policy did not sit well with us....what if someone else wants to use the kitchen after we have used it but I'm sure its a great gesture for some people."

  "This is our second time staying at Whale Coast Lodge - this time for just one night. Sadly the self contained cottage we had booked into was not available to us as the council had decided to dig up all the drains in the back garden making access somewhat of a challenge. So we were offered another room - great shower, huge bathroom, huge bedroom. Shared kitchen which was very well equipped, and lounge (which we did not use). Would come back."

  "A well equipped cottage with plenty of space for the two of us. Enjoyed the spacious bedroom. A few small points that would not prevent us from returning: there is no place for toiletries/toilet bags in the bathroom except on the floor (not including the ledge in the shower which was great); the bathroom sink tap is VERY stiff making it difficult to turn on/off.Unrelated to the management: the units are quite close together so our first night was interrupted by a screaming match between husband and wife. Then because of inconsiderate parking by another car ours was blocking the driveway. We were asked to move at 11pm so the screaming wife could leave. After that the inconsiderate party arrived home quite drunk and very noisy. Our second night had no neighbours so was much better.Appreciated the daily housekeeping as the wind was quite severe and blew lots of dirt and leaves into the cottage. But having said all that we would return."

  "I was a little put off on initial arrival as the cottage is in a suburban street and it was difficult to get access into the office, however once settled into the accommodation we had a comfortable stay. We stayed in Cottage A, very comfy bed and all necessary amenities provided including, kitchen and DSTV movie channels. The pictures overstate the accommodation, but I would stay there again and I felt it was value for money."

  "What an absolute gem of a place. The self-catering cottage was well-equipped, clean and tidy. We had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay in Hermanus. The little extras like a heater in the bathroom were a surprise and much appreciated. Would highly recommend this establishment both for value for money and friendliness of the staff."

  "The friendliest staff, especially Taki. She was helpful, friendly and very accommodating. The bedding was crisp and ample, there was a mounted heater in both the bathroom and bedroom and the bath could be run consecutively without the hot water getting depleted. There was full DStv available, and an equipped kitchen and living room with a fireplace available to us. We will definitely visit again! Affordable without cutting back on quality. 10/10!"
