  • "Nice view but understaffed, unprofessional, very old discolored sheets and sweat smelling pillows"

    29 December 2013

"The staff seemed genuinely nice in the beginning but slowly you get the feeling that you are an unwelcome guest.First day: the staff gives you the receipt and asks you to pay the remaining balance .... in cash. Until this bill is not fully paid expect the staff knock on your door at a random time ... every day. It really gives a feeling as of being chased by a debt collector. Not very nice feeling if you want to sit back and relax a bit after a 24 hour flight in our case.Expect some very old 50% polyester sheets totally discolored with age and with the extra feature of sweat smelling pillows when squeezed.Want to go to the toilet? Expect a smell of urine wafting from behind the toilet from the previous guests. We had to buy toilet cleaner.Want to go outside for a swim in the pool? Forget it. The pool water is not inviting at all. Dirty with monkeys drinking water from it.Want to sit down or lay down in the outside benches and poolside beds? Nope. These benches seemed to have been last cleaned in the 1950s.On our last night the owner simply disconnected the Wi-Fi. I had to go downstairs and he said that he has limited capacity - 40GB per month or something - and "I can't run a business with only 2 GB left"... well.. I am the guest paying 400 Rand per person per night and your B&B profile states we have Wi-Fi access. A B&B with 4 or more rooms with only 40GB per month?!This place is obviously understaffed. The owners are a couple that really seem a exhausted with all the work. They should hire some extra staff. Some pros: very nice view to the riverside and garden is very nice too. Owners are also helpful with suggestions of what to visit and see."

"It was a very pleasant stay, and we will definitely return. There is a lovely view from the room. Light and airy accommodation, well maintained and clean."
