"Breakfast not served as said in advert, but everything else was wonderfull. The tranquilety of the area was just what we needed for a short break away. Flat was clean and everything we needed was available from towels to cooking utensils. Thanks we will definately be visiting you again."

  • "Unpleasant experience"

    12 August 2016

"The farm is actually 50 minutes drive to Numbi gate.Better off leaving from Nelspruit. The gravel road to the facility is in excess of 10km and not good for a low vehicle. The kitchen utensils are seriously inadequate and old.The electrics are not working and a serious hazard-keeps tripping.
The rooms are not cleaned and although the Site shows very good photos, the units have bad finishes. They do not deserve to be used for tourism at all.

Establishments Response:

Firstly, the guest booked room 10 which sleeps 5. He arrives with 6 family members without paying for the extra member!

The lodge, from the tar road it is only 21km to Numbi Gate and certainly a lot closer than Nelspruit.

The main dirt road to the lodge is well graded and the guest arrived in a Pajero 4x4?

This is a self-catering lodge as stipulated on the website. We provide the basic kitchen ware, including: kettle, micro, two plate burner, toaster, toasted sandwich maker, crockery and cutlery. Also the unit has its own braai area with free wood! We do not include however, ( which the guest demanded and was provided) extra Pyrex dishes, pans and frying pans.

I explained to the guest that he cannot plug more than two appliances into one plug outlet, the amperage on a plug outlet is not designed for this, for safety reasons.

Mukwa Farm Lodge received a four star grading from the S A Tourism Board (although we advertise 3 star) and our rates are charged accordingly, R350.00 PP sharing.

In future I would suggest that Mr Miyanadeniya consider booking accommodation in the R 1400.00 PP bracket to suffice his needs!"

  • "Excellent service"

    22 April 2014

"Mukwa Farm was an amazing experience for a group of 7 adults and 2 children. The rooms are spacious and clean. We received a warm welcome from Ettienne and Nosi - they were wonderful during our stay. Ettienne assisted with all our needs - my sister stabbed herself in the hand and Ettienne assisted with his first aid kit. I would recommend Mukwa Farm to anyone who wants to experience the outdoors and centrally situated to the attractions."

  • "Reception"

    22 January 2014

"The ambient atmosphere there is just great, however the manager of the place was extremely rude and not very accommodating. He is going to cost that business a lot of support.I would also suggest a couple of fish and fishing equipment in the dam."

  • "Mukwa Farm service feedback"

    20 January 2014

"Mukwa as a whole is very beautiful, the rooms were clean, setup is great with small private kitchens however the manager (Ettienne) is very bad. The reception was horrible, he was rude. He told us that we should not use the main dining hall because he is expecting people but we paid (eventually we used it). His pit-bulls were just loose, we had to tell him to lock them away. His attitude and manners is just bad, he does not deserve to be a manager in the tourism industry."

  • "Weekend well spent"

  • "Superb venue"

    02 April 2013

"It was a superb venue and a perfect family getaway. Mukwa farm is ideal for families with kids. The chalets are spacious, very clean and have absolutely everything a weary traveller requires. Ettienne and Nosi are just the best hosts ever. My kids were bowled over by the establishment. I recommend Mukwa farm unreservedly."

  • "Mixed"

    06 October 2012

"Lovely location and reasonable facilities, but attention to detail by the host lacking. We had clearly booked for 2 adults and 3 children, but were given non adjacent rooms. Also, sleeping facilities only for 4 people were provided. We had to make our own plan to accommodate the third child. In the one cottage, the sewer overflowed into the kitchen leaving an unpleasant smells and leaving the place unusable. The same happened to the neighbors cottage."
