Die Dorpshuis
Die Dorpshuis is situated in Williston, a charming Karoo town in the heart of the Northern Cape with neighbouring towns Calvinia and Carnarvon. Sheep farming is the predominant industry, with locally reared Karoo lamb being widely renowned. As many farms are located far away from town, the custom was for farmers to have a town house which they used when they came to town for business.
Our classic Karoo-style town house has three bedrooms, which sleep up to six people. The master bedroom has a double bed and the two guest rooms each have two single beds. The fully appointed kitchen opens up into a relaxing open-plan living and dining area and views of the majestic Karoo landscape can be enjoyed from the dining room and front patio. Other amenities include braai facilities, a garage and two covered parking bays.
The town and surrounding area has much to offer. The famous Tombstone Route, showcasing artistic tombstones chiselled from local sandstone, takes guests on a unique historic tour of the area. Golfers can try their hand at a round of golf on a unique Karoo style grassless golf course.

Williston is central and you can easily access surrounding towns and dirt roads if you are into off road adventure biking. The house is clean, and quiet. The safe and secure environment allows one to lock up and go. We would recommend a stay here if you want a good bed, bathroom and kitchen."

All spotlessly clean and perfect. We went into the village for dinner and met some of the local people and had a fantastic evening. Everyone so friendly and hospitable. 22 February 2014"Nach einer langen Fahrt durch die grosse Karoo trafen wir im B & B Die Dorphuis eine kleine Oase an. Im Garten eines gepflegten Bungalows steht das Gste Unit. Es ist gerumig, sehr gut ausgestattet, sauber, neuwertig. Die Wirtsleute erklren uns sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit ihre Unterkunft. Es ist ein besonderes Erlebnis, an so einem abgelegenen Ort, eine so erholsame Unterkunft anzutreffen. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhltnis erscheint uns ausserordentlich gut.After a long drive through the great Karoo, we arrived at a small oasis, Die Dorphuis. The well-kept bungalow is in the garden. It is spacious, very well equipped and clean, like new. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was a special experience to stay in such a remote place and in such peaceful accommodation. The value for money seems extremely good to us."
