• "Host is a nut"

  "Made two seperate bookings, for two consecutive days. My first booking was made at the end of September, and the other was made at the end of October. I was to stay on the 5th and 6th of January 2022. On the 4th of January, Susan sends me my confirmation and then calls me and tells me that my booking has been cancelled. Despite me telling her that I have already paid, and my bookings were confirmed. She said that I won't be getting a refund. I had to scramble and book elsewhere! The next day, Susan phones me and asks me what time I will be arriving. About a week later, she personally sends me a link to review my stay with her. Avoid this place! We found other lovely and affordable accommodation in Winterton.It should be noted, that I was refunded in the end, and without asking for it. Host is a nut, but not a thief."

  "The place is clean and adequate, but needs some serious TLC - furniture are dilapidated, the kettle smells of burning plastic and is falling apart and the dining "bench" is dangerously close to collapse. What was most inconvenient and irritating is the fact that the owners were shining in their absence, lock up everything and don't even answer the phone. Admin and booking confirmation with SafariNow were totally ignored by the owners and their records showed that we didn't pay in full even though we did so via SafariNow 10 days in advance. When we arrived it took about 30 minutes to get a reaction from them even though I confirmed an estimated time of arrival beforehand. I actually NEVER met or spoke to the owner - just her husband. Hospitality get zero stars. This is my first booking via SafariNow and if this is the type of establishment you promote and support, I would be very reluctant to book through SafariNow again or recommend that my friend and family do."

  "Great place in the Drakensberg area. Very close to supermarkets for self catering. The cottage is large and comfortable. The outdoor area is also very nice. The host was very nice. The only negative point is that the place was smelling smoking, despite the many signs saying it is forbidden to smoke inside."

  "We had a wedding in the area, so needed a place to stay for the night. It was VERY basic and old, but clean and suited our needs.<div>We were disappointed that we had paid for bed and breakfast, only to find that they had no restaurant. Advice to others- there is an awesome spot called the Pig and Plough for breakfast, just down the road.</div>"

  "A very pleasant 5-day stay at Lilac Lodge. Conveniently situated at the gateway to the Central Drakensberg. Units have all mod cons and are comfortable, well-equipped and set in a lovely garden.<div>There were a few issues with heating and plumbing, but nothing serious. Very good value for money.</div>"

  "We loved our one night stay in this Magical Lodge. The setting and gardens is beautiful and we loved walking around, the pool area and the trampoline. The accommodation is basic but good and just what we needed as a stop-over place in the Berg!"
