19 Mount Champagne Cottage

Mount Champagne Cottage is a double-storey thatched cottage located in the secure Mount Champagne Resort at the foot of Cathkin Peak. It has stunning and private views of the Cathkin Peak and Champagne Castle mountain range. Mount Champagne is situated near to all amenities, including a shop and restaurant as well as the Champagne Sports Golf Course, while the resort itself offers a delightful swimming pool area, tennis, fishing, and canoeing.

Mount Champagne Cottage comfortably accommodates up to eight guests and comprises four bedrooms with three bathrooms, a lounge, kitchen, dining area and utility room. The lounge features a fireplace and a TV with DStv - the ideal place to curl up on those chilly winter evenings. The dining area contains a eight-seater dining table and chairs, and the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a stove and oven, microwave, kettle, and toaster. Features also include a spacious and secluded garden which is just right for sunbathing, with the Sterkspruit river just a stones throw away.

There are extensive walks and organized hikes in the surrounding area and the famous Drakensberg World Heritage Site. Other activities include trips to rock art sites, horse riding, mountain biking, and helicopter trips. The renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir School borders the property and the sound of their weekly concerts echo across the valley.

"The cottage was great for us. The facilities were fine eg. kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine fridge and freezer. Its not a new cottage but has great atmosphere and the view is amazing."

"Loved the amount of space in the unit, and most equipment needed is available. Access to facilities such as tennis, swimming pool and the hiking trails is great - also close to adventure facilites like zip line, horseriding etc, and the famous Drakensberg Boys Choir. Finishes, some furniture and equipment could do with maintenance (especially a couple of the doors, lights, one bed in particular), and the lighting inside is very poor."

"We spend a wonderful 4 days at Mount Champagne Cottage. It was clean, comfortable and we had all the luxuries that we needed. The view and surroundings are spectacular. It is definitely value for money and we will be back."
