  "My mom and I had an absolutely magical time at this gem of the Drakensberg. I was not sure what to expect, but we were both blown away. The management and staff are great, the view spectacular, and the accommodation was something out of a dream. We were planning our next visit before we even left.   "We have spent our honeymoon at the Bahati tree lodge, and there certainly is no place on earth as remote, tranquil and magical. Bahati is tastefully decorated and equipped with all the necessities you might possibly need for a luxurious yet close to nature self-catering getaway. Nothing beats breakfast on the deck overlooking the dam and the mountains, or an icy amarula after a long hike, with an epic thunderstorm rolling over the hills. Pine trees not only surround Bahati (keeping the view clear at all times), but also grow right through it in wonderful glass cages - it is fascinating to watch the trees sway when the wind is strong! We loved it, and we'll be back."

  "What a lovely place and a good break away from the city. We didn't get to go on the trails as there we're so many activities close by. The views from the tree house were nothing short of breathtaking. The house was clean and very neat. The house was also well equipped with everything you could need. I will definitely make use of Treks, Trips and Trails the next time I'm in the Drakensberg."

  "Magda took care of us and provided us with everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing weekend away from the city.<div>After the sky cleared up from the morning rain we embarked on a 15km hike around the property. The lush vegetation and occasional cows provided the perfect scenery for a quiet walk over a small river and past the dam. We returned to our cabin, feeling hot and tired, to savour the cool water of the rock pool. Having cooled off sufficiently, we spent the rest of the evening in front of a warm fire in the privacy of our cabin.</div><div>Highly recommended, and we will definitely visit again!</div>"

Chris was very helpful in giving us a map and information on the surroundings which helped us plan our stay. Very enjoyable and relaxing. Would not hesitate to recommend this property."

  "We had an amazing stay in the Bahati lodge. It is beautiful, luxurious, and tastefully furnished. We breakfasted and dined on the veranda every single day, no photo can do justice to the majestic view that this place offers. The pine trees that grow through the house are magical! We also enjoyed the fireplace as much as the bonfire place (roasted marshmallows are delicious in every season). The rock pool added an extra touch of luxury and comfort to our stay, and was beautifully refreshing after the hiking adventures in the mountains. Besides being an amazing place on its own, Bahati is conveniently close to all central Drakensberg activities. If I ever visit Drakensberg again, I will definitely look no further."

During the day the view takes your breath away and at night the stars and the moon over the dam take your breath away. And what is greater than a winter night spent in front of the fireplace!   "We stayed in the Bahati Treehouse and had a lovely long weekend getaway. The location is idyllic and the cabin is lovely, tastefully furnished, and has everything you might need. A sense of isolation from neighbours (there aren't many) is afforded by the surrounding grassy banks. There are many walks/hikes from your doorstep on which to explore the beautiful surroundings. The photos actually do not do the place enough justice. Although we went as a couple, and felt that we received good value for our money, there is a full double room downstairs with its own bathroom (with open-plan shower with a view) where another two people can stay. With a group of four staying at the current price for the unit, you will be hard-pressed to find a better place to get away and unwind!"

  "We stayed three nights in T,T & T, but it was far too short. Just sitting on the deck was an experience in itself. What a view! Nice cottage, friendly owner. We made (among other things) a helicopter flight from the airbase in Cathedral Peak, which was magnificent, and did the guided walk (King Steve Travel & Tours, Dragon's Peak)to the cave with San paintings. Our guide, Steve, gave us a lot of information about the area, the people, the flowers, the animals and of course the San people and their paintings, religion and way of life. We learnt a whole history whithin three hours. It was excellent!"

Hikes are so near up at Monks Cowl and the views are tremendous. The self-catering facility was excellent, and sitting outside in the morning sunshine made it hard to get up and go out walking.. Instead of two nights, we stayed three...and then they helped us a lot to get some accommodation across in St Lucia. We felt really safe and secure there. All in all this was another highlight of our South African holiday..."
