Fynbos Guest Farm is a 57-hectare retreat of farmland, fynbos and renosterbos. We are a working farm and you will always see somebody busy, whether it is felling alien trees, digging, fixing, or general maintenance. We have a speed-limit of 15 km per hour for the safety of our guests, children, dogs, birds and animals, and to keep the dust down. We also have a no-noise policy after 10 pm and expect guests to always respect the privacy and peace of fellow caravanners and campers. Please note: we have a NO MUSIC/ No noise policy and expect guests to adhere to this - it is not negotiable.
Each cottage is fully equipped, with linen and towels provided, and features a fireplace and an outdoor barbecue area. One cottage sleeps four, another cottages sleep two, and our our cottage sleeps three guests in two bedrooms.
We also offer nine campsites, each fairly private and nestled in the fynbos. The clean and beautifully decorated ablution facilities are serviced daily, and there are electric points at each site but no water; water can be collected nearby from the ablution block. There are also nine caravan sites that are reasonably private.
Just ask us and we will gladly tell you about the other exciting activities available nearby, from cheese-tasting to a visit at a chocolatier. We look forward to having you as our guest at Fynbos Guest Farm.
"The animal sanctuary is wonderful, and the animals are very well looked after. The gardens are beautifully appointed. It was a little difficult to pitch a tent as the campsite ground is hard, with no grass, due to the nature of the area. All in all, a lovely , tranquil experience..."
"Caravan sites basic but ablution very neat. The "animal sanctuary' that they maintain there is beautiful. Well looked after and a real pleasure to walk through. Care about animals are well observed. Excellent!!"
"The toilet facilities are a bit uncomfortable 2 toilet and 2 showers. Mens showers doesn't have doors and toilet doors not sealed properly."
"Loved the animals and the gardens. Sat there for hours in contentment. Loved all the hidden spots in the gardens."
"Hands-down my favorite camp spot in the Western Cape. The gorgeous animals are the highlight."
"Its small but managable as we have two young children."
"This was my second visit but this time I had my three year old niece and her parents in tow. The animals and serene setting entertained and relaxed us all. The ablutions are clean and the service is warm. Just loved it."
"A phenomenal venue. Beautiful, safe and fun for all. Private spots. Clean ablutions. Friendly service. I will definitely be back."
"Peter and his family welcomed us as close friends, not guests or clients.Appreciate the warmth and yet the distance to ensure we had a good stay. Thank you for the freshly baked Pecan nut bread! it was delicious."
"We have stayed at Fynbos Guest Farm twice now in a matter of months. This is such a special place, it gives you the space to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of all the beautiful animals they look after. Peter and his lovely wife are the most amazing people, everyone that works there is SO friendly! Thank you so much again for your warm hospitality, it makes all the difference! We are counting down the days until we can come back and enjoy this beautiful getaway again!"
"Great place to camp. Peter is really friendly and makes you feel at home. The facilities are also really amaxing ."
"We had a wonderful restful stay. The fresh air, beautiful scenery and friendly animals made the our stay most enjoyable."
"Peter and Maurice are SUPER CARING people! Their kindness shown to 'down & out' animals a lesson to everyone! We had a super, fantastic stay, I have never heard a donkey 'heeh-aahying' so loudly when he saw 'his' Peter, he even showed off his dancing skills, too dear! The Billy Goats too were rescued, covered in lice, took Peter a month of careful grooming with special shampoo's to bring back their shiny coat. Flayed cart horses, once down trodden looking magnificent! We witnessed the, obviously happy, sheep prancing on a run to the man made hill in their numbers, and an inquisitive Emu peering over the paddock fence. Our stay in The Francolin Cottage LOVELY, well stocked kitchen, gifts of wine, chocolates and rusks, ever so welcome beside the fireplace. Thank you Peter for sharing your 'Living Dream' with us, yours is a SPECIAL, WONDERFUL escape for those living in big, cities the world over. Thank you for your kindness to animals and people, oh, one last thing the walk among Proteas and tiny flowers on your farm ... I just wanted to stay, forever! as well as your finding us in Wolseley to follow you to your farm, everything you have there lives in perfect harmony! Well done!! Love and best regards, Henk, Karin Behnken Diana Hefferman"
"It is beautiful with a lot of potential but there is NO grass, so camping and sitting outside is a dusty experience! The flies are overwhelming and HECTIC! Sad!"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The campsites are almost private, the ablutions even have toilet paper, soap and towels to dry your hands! The host was really super and most helpful. The dustbin was emptied and the braaiplace cleaned even on Saturday. We highly recommended it."
"Most enjoyable time away. Peace and absence of MUSIC NOISE very much appreciated. Camp was full but we had peace. Thank you."
"Beautiful farm for relaxing. Campsites are private en very neat. Beautiful animals to feed and to enjoy."
