"Great setting on the banks of the Breede River. On arrival fresh fruit, rusks and a bottle of wine were awaiting us. Really enjoyed our stay at this stunning venue. Pet friendly with DSTV were big features."

  • "Tatty,Tired,Cottage with Stagnant Green Pond"

    05 February 2018

"We asked if the river was alright to swim in,was told fine,it's not ,it's stagnant to the point we left early,to keep our dogs out of it,so they didn't become ill.The owner was "too busy"to even introduce herself, she lives a km away.Very quick to want her money upfront though.Do not stay here.If I could score zero I would."

  • "A little bit of Heaven"

    02 June 2017

"The cottage was perfect with all the mod and cons of the 1st World yet maintaining a home from home feel. Lovely large fireplaces one the enclosed stoep and one in the house. Wonderful peaceful surroundings with amazing mountains framing the landscape with the beautiful river setting right on your doorstep."

  • "Lovely place lovely stay"

    12 September 2016

"We had a wonderful stay at Mooiplaas.

It's really peaceful and our boxer loved the freedom. The cottage is an absolute delight, pity the river was icy but I got one swim in :)

We had a lovely visit at the Ramkiekie Farm Market at Mountain Ridge Winery and the winemaker Christo was kind enough to take us on a wine tour. Other places to visit in a quick drive Tulbagh and the Tollhouse on the way to Ceres for Roosterkoek. We will be back and had a lovely stay."

  • "A little piece of heaven"

    04 December 2011

"Had three glorious days in Mooiplaas. The cottage is just so pretty, nestled among the vineyards and gets an occasional visit by the herd of goats. It's right on the river with mountains all around and the peace and tranquility was magnificent. We indulged ourselves in complimentary local wine, fresh fruit and rusks. A really stunning find. Hope to get back there soon."
