"Firstly the place has a sign board with another name. The owner was not home when we got there. She called the housekeeper to let her know we at the gate. Housekeeper reminded us immediately we still need to pay balance. She did not show us how to the TV was to be switched on ot the air con. Aircon was so dirty we ened up getting sick from the dust. Dirt is clearly visible on the curtain rail & aircon. The owner is very unwelcoming. we felt like intruders. whilst using the pool her grandkids joined in as well. The grand daughter kept on diving in splashing water on us so it became irritating. we planned on braaing by the pool but as the braai was not cleaned we could not & secondly the grand kids were bothersome. The housekeeper clearly stated that it was not her job to clean the braai area. We went to braai on the other side & one of the grandkids pooped on the pathway. My husband informed the owner & she said her son would come clean up but he never did. My hubby went again after half an hour & the grandfather came out to clean up. Our room had to be locked at all times & when using the tiny bathroom toilet you had to squeeze in 7 make sure the door was properly closed as the next flat window looks into the toilet. Not once were we asked if we needed anything & the following day the owner did not even bother seeing us let alone say goodbye. I would suggest taking this place of safari.com. truly disappointing & not worth what we paid...."

"We were welcomed by Mrs Koekemoer, and I immediately took her into the room, which STANK of smoke (no smoking sign). She apologised, and we accepted that the smoke smell should leave. However, we slept on top of the bed, in our clothes, as the pillows smelt, the bedcover was dirty. There were black hairs at the bottom of the bed between the sheets. The shower water runs out slowly, and a black dirty ring at the bottom due to dirty water. Bathroom rug dirty. We hardly slept, as our daughter has allergies, and the room still STANK the next morning. Sunday morning at 8, no one to collect key, and no instruction as what to do. Luckily an employee arrived for work, so we gave keys to two rooms to her. It is a pity."

We checked out at 11am as we were told we can sleep in as we did, then get told at check out that our deposit will be retained. Did get our deposit back in end. Otherwise stay was pleasurable."

  • "Okay but can improve"

"The room was very cosy, had a very good rest. But i can bet that the breakfast for day 2 was left overs, it was cold and not well prepared- compared to the breakfast we had on day 1. The host we welcoming as well.

Establishment's response

Note has been taken of Me Malibe's response. I appreciate the positive and negative comments. This inspires us to improve our services even more. Villa D Rust does everything possible to meet our guests' needs. I can assure you that it is not in line with our standards to make use of left overs. Food that becomes cold was due to, because the breakfast was served on the plate on time but the guests then decided to first have coffee. All rooms are equipped wit a microwave. The sollution is that Villa D Rust will not serve any food directly on the plate but all food will be served in chaving dishes. One of my present guests response this morning is that the food was great and exsqueezete and weel prepared.
