"We had a wonderful stay at African Spirit. Our guide Jesse went out of his way to show us a cheetah and her cubs and the staff were very hospitable. The house we stayed in was great - spacious and well equipped especially with the braai boma, weber, potjie etc for outdoor cooking - perfect! Thanks"

"My husband and I recently came back to South Africa to have a break from work in Brazil. We chose to stay two days at African Spirit - over new years eve - since we really wanted some time away from people. It was a great break! The rooms were clean and air-conditioned, and Madelaine and Jesse gave us a friendly welcome. They were excellent hosts - there at 5am if we wanted to go on a game drive, ready with breakfast whenever we needed, and back again at dinner, serving a three course meal after drinks at the bar and not leaving us until they saw that our every need was catered to. On new years eve, after we'd watched the full moon rise over the hills the night before, there was a fantastic thunderstorm which we watched from the deck at the bar. It was all the fireworks we needed for the new year - and so great to spend it in the bush. On the game drive animals were shy (the bush was very lush, since a ten year drought has just broken and the heat didn't help), but Jesse entertained us with tales of all the small animals - our highlight was seeing a bark spider fold up her web after a night of hunting. We really got some great pictures, and it's great to know that the reserve is doing it's bit to preserve the rhinos in the country - to date, they haven't lost a single rhino. I think that deserves a round of applause."
"We had great hospitality and service and had a game drive just driving to the lodge on the Wednesday night. It is a fantastic place to stay and would recommend it to everyone I know."
"The overall experience was fantastic. The accommodation was great – a home away from home. The attention to detail was superb! The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The game drive was awesome with spectacular views! It is highly recommended and we will go back anytime."
