  • "True Bushveld"

    03 April 2018

"We stayed in the tree top tent. Nice experience being right in the middle of the bush... good get away from the busy life in the city and road to the ranch is good. Had some rain that didn't help keeping our food dry as the Kitchen tent roof is torn so water just flows in... Jacuzzi doesn't work... and on arrival, we had to struggle getting a bat out our tent. The hosts never even offered to assist as I made them aware of the bat. There were no dry wood after the rains which could be addressed. When the electricity went out the hosts promised to get back to us... still waiting... we were offered to have our place cleaned, just to get a message that there are no-one to clean... the bed can do with a new mattress as the bed is uncomfortable. So overall it is a very nice stay in the BUsh... on arrival all is clean and people are friendly. But allot can be learned from the hosts on the Service levels. ALWAYS have a plan "B" or even "C" when needed."

  • "Secluded and private"

    03 April 2018

"If you are a nature lover, and need time to be alone and secluded from the rest of the world, then Gnu Range is the place to be. We have really enjoyed our stay over the Easter Weekend and will surely be back."

  • "Unspoilt nature"

    05 March 2018

"This place is a gem but need some maintenance. Owners changed. With a few patches and some sealer, new plain linen, a few rocks stacked again (and some extra towels when it rains), it can still revive. We sincerely hope that it won't go to waste when the place is converted to accommodate overseas hunters."

  • "The game drive"

    04 February 2018

"Just loved you get one with nature again and no one for kilometres. The Luxury tent camp was fantastic with its own spa bath. the camp can do with some fixing up like the canvas of the tent, varnish on the deck, secure the decking, maybe some white new bed linen and a solar light for electricity saving at the braai/kitchen area to see where to walk going to the tent. But, with this all it was top 5 weekends in my life. Was thinking to contact owner and find out about investment possibility."

  • "Room for improvement"

    17 January 2018

"Clearly Gnu Ranch just changed ownership. There are many things that need to be improved. I am sure the new management is aware of it and working on it."

  • "The peace, quiet and privacy"

    30 December 2017

"Signage for Gnu Ranch is very bad, we were told to look for a green sign and yellow thatch but none was visible. Was clean and tidy, would like to have left tent flap open at night and close just the inner shade cloth but the zipper was broken. Tent canvas needs upgrading and some wooden boards need replacing. On the whole the stay was super and we would definitely go back"

  • "Relaxation at its best!"

    03 May 2017

"We stayed in the luxury tent for 4 nights, the ranch is beautiful. A few hiccups regarding heating in the room, all heaters were not working and the team did not have any extra's luckily the cold was bearable and I packed an extra heated blanket! Plug points in the kitchen are a bit temperamental in all honest all that's needed is a new plug point and all will be sorted. On our last night we had no water but the team sorted this out quickly and it was restored later that night. All in all the camp is really nice, views of the bush are spectacular and the Jacuzzi bath is a real treat... Besides for the little hiccups we really enjoyed our stay"

  • "Stay at GNU Ranch 16 - 18 December 2016."

    19 December 2016

"We had a lovely time at GNU ranch, it's an absolute must to get away from the buzz of the city, no television or technology whatsoever, just a calm and relaxing weekend in the bush ... not even to mention thew outdoor jacuzzi."

  • "Misleading information"

    28 June 2016

"The accommodation (rock lodge) was fine. But we were surprised that we were not allowed to walk around on the grounds of the ranch, which was one of the reasons why we booked it. Nowhere in the information about the ranch is written, that in the period from May to August there is hunting season and because of security reasons, nobody is allowed to walk or hike around."

  • "Fantastic stay"

    03 February 2015

"We stayed in the luxury tent and absolutely loved it. The tent was well kitted out and the open air shower and spa bath were amazing. Felt relaxed as soon as we turned up! The drive is down a dirt road about 7km long but we made it in a Ford Fiesta and it was fine. We went on a bush drive but sadly didn't see any cheetahs. Laurika was lovely and we had a great time. Just what we needed, thank you!"
