  "I loved the nature, how quiet and peaceful it was. Lodge should put extra linen there for cold nights, the braai was a little too small, complimentary coffee and sugar like all other self catering locations do won't hurt. Please wash the linen and curtains...if the stains didn't come out-replace maybe?"

  "I am writing this letter to highlight my immense disappointment with our stay at Vaal De Siloh. My family and I were so disgusted that we could not even stay for the full<br/>Duration of the period that we booked for.<br/>My husband did not want to make a scene in front of our children and the other guests, so therefore we checked out without laying down our complains. <br/><br/>Firstly, there is a plague of red ants in front of the cabins and the kids were bitten so many times that they couldnt even walk one meter away from the cabin.<br/>The pool was full of ants and residuewe could not even see the floor of the pool.<br/>The cabins were full of wasp nests and other bugswe had to stay awake the entire night in fear of the kids being stung as my son is allergic to insect bites.<br/>The cabins were filthy and full of sand, dust and cobwebs. The bedding had a body odour smell. The broken tiles in the kitchen was a safety hazard.<br/>There was absolutely no amenities or facilites. The TV which would have been a source of entertainment was not in use and there was no indication of when it would become available.<br/><br/>Had this been highlighted on your website we would have been made aware and would have booked elsewhere.<br/>Bearing in mind that we drove 800kms to arrive at this destination and then checkout one day later was a waste of time and money as we had to book elsewhere in Parys at the last minute.<br/><br/>Awaiting your response<br/>"

  "Our stay at Vaal de Sioleh was very unpleasant. We stayed in the 8 sleeper log cabin which had a really bad smell and was not cleaned properly before our check-Inn. Bats in the walls kept us awake all night and the photos on the website was misleading. When we confronted reception about the problem they were aware of it, but did nothing about it which resulted in us checking out two nights earlier with no refund whatsoever. Extremely disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone."

  "<p>Driving along the river frontage towards the chalet brings an immediate calm to the soul!<br></br></p><p>Lighting a fire and watching the sunset behind the hills all the while the river flows by you know you are in for an incredible evening filled withclear night skies and the most incredible constellations!<br></br></p><p>Waking up on a cool winters morning to see the mist covered river and stepping out into the crisp air to have a cup of coffee...<br></br></p><p>1 night is just not enough to take in the serenity and the beautyof Vaal de Sioleh.<br></br></p><p>Our next visit will definitely be for longer to try and cash in on the yellow gold that occupy the waters of this beautiful place!</p>"

  "<p>On arrival no one was present at reception area. Although the room had a microwave, kettle, etc. there was no coffee or tea or sugar in the room. The day of our arrival was freezing so this was a terrible disappointment. The shower was very dirty and the bedroom was riddled with wasps, one of which stung me during the evening. Although a heater was provided it was not operational and therefore the room remained freezing for the duration of our stay.</p><p>The only plus side was that there was plenty of hot water but other than that this is not a place I will visit again.</p>"

Die swembad was so groen dat ons dit nie wou waag om te swem nie. Jammer om te s dat die mense glad nie hou van telefoon antwoord nie en ek het later maar 'n sms gestuur om 'n paar goedjies wat kort te vra. Na dit alles het ons tog lekker gekuier daar!</p><p></p>"

  "Vaal de Sioleh is a peaceful, tranquil weekend getaway.<br /><br />The only thing that would have been welcomed would have been arriving to a clean and bug free thatched chalet.<br /><br />On arrival we had to clean the entire chalet. We also had wash all the cutlery, crockery and pots as these were covered in spider webs. The pots had bugs inside of them and the dinnerware still had oil on them.<br /><br />We did ask them for a broom, bucket and mob to clean the chalet and all that was given to us was a feather duster.<br /><br />Drove to town and bought cleaning materials as well as citronella oil, citronella candles and 4 cans of bug spray to kill the many spiders, bugs and fish moths that were in the chalet.<br /><br />My children were freaked out and just wanted to go home.<br />"

Ons het pragtige uitsig oor die rivier gehad, Die wild en volstruise wat tussen die chalets gewei het ,het bygedra tot die rustigheid. Ons sal beslis weer kom!Calm and relaxed We spent a wonderful weekend on the banks of the Vaal. The chalet was well equipped and clean. Beautiful views of the river and the game and ostriches grazing between the chalets contributed to the tranquility. We will definitely come again!"

  "Our weekend was most memorable. We had a fun packed weekend with activities ranging from fishing, photography, mountain biking, birding and canoeing. The facilities are good, with a swimming pool to cool off as a bonus. The river chalets have excellent views off the deck. The downside for me was the soft and sagging mattresses, not good for old backs like mine. Other than this complaint that can be sorted out easily, we all had a blast and the kids definitely want to go back."

  "Was no doubt a stunning venue, little disappointed no bread board, bottle opener, can opener, cheese grater in the chalet. Bed wasn't the most comfortable and the window in the bedroom lets in so much light you have to wake up at the crack of dawn. Other than that it was stunning and will no doubt return but will ensure we come better prepared."
